Perfect songs for Orla's soft voice. My only criticism of her days with Celtic Woman is that her voice was submerged under the powerful voices of the other ladies. But the solos done by Orla are the favorite songs I replay over and over from her days with Celtic Woman.

The water is wide dates from 1600's and is in fact referring to James Douglas and his feelings about being trapped inside a loveless politically arranged marriage while loving someone his family considered unworthy. It is also known as child 204 in some older music catalogues. This music was written almost two centuries before Amazing Grace and I'm sorry but as a long time musician, and folk singer of both Irish and Scottish heritage I fail to understand how you could ever think them linked

That's a tin whistle, or pennywhistle. A deceptively simple instrument, easy to play a little, but not at all easy to play this well.

Oops sorry as lovely as this lady is I just cannot drift with her voice. This is a beautiful Scottish folksong 'O Waly Waly' and I'm afraid I cannot enjoy it. This is a beautiful melancholy folksong which she does not capture even Shenandoah does not hold ones complete absorption sorry does nothing for me.
