If the bassline in the first tune sound awfully familiar to anyone else: Its played like its appears in Mobb Deep & Kool G Rap - The realest. Which originally sampled the intro to Ecstasy, Passion & Pain - Born to Lose You.

The second joint is not Fall In Love, aside from the vocal. The beat itself is Doo Doo from Dilla's Vintage Vol. 2 release.

Outstanding! But what's up with that restless half-assedly attentive crowd? Just straight up talking through the music, WTF?!?! This ain't some lame ass 80s cover band, this is top- tier & world class musicianship at its finest! Geez..Sorry.. HUGE pet peeve of mine.. :) Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, much appreciated! I'm looking forward to seeing them in Oakland next month!

To be fair, the show didn't start until 11pm due to a backline keyboard never arriving due to heavy rain. People be drankin'... (including the band)

dude leave the fucking crowd alone. it's a club, people socialize. you're not obligated to worship the music at all times.
@fatbackfunk
@fatbackfunk 5 жыл бұрын
@@LfunkeyA Ok "dude"... Anyway, lighten up francis, it really ain't that deep. In fact, you see the stupid little smiley face after my comment, which is clearly the indicator that I'm not taking this shit so seriously, nor losing my shit or any sleep over this. And FYI, nobody mentioned anything about anyone being obligated to do anything. Talk about being inattentive, you sir, might wanna read my comment a little more carefully. It's nothing more than a personal observation and expression of astonishment and mild annoyance. Clearly people can socialize all they want in a club, and as evidenced in this video, as loudly as they want. However, it doesn't make it any less annoying for the folks who did actually attend with the sole purpose of listening to the band perform. Ok "dude"?

the common man needs a singer to connect to music
@ambroulard
@ambroulard 5 жыл бұрын
@@Jordarr8994 The truth is I love a lot of singers! Marvin Gaye, Al Green, even Azalea Banks! but for this kind of band and music,,, totally unnecessary--- there's a reason Miles Davis rarely brought singers into the mix in his work and while this bands music is NOT like Mile's it occupies a similar space---- a vocalist in a band like this trying to actually sing lyrics is pretty silly---- these guys are jamming on riffs so these are not really songs. Check out screaming headless torsos if you want to see a great vocalist doing jazz fusion kind of stuff,,, but keep in mind they are playing actual songs.
@Jordarr8994
@Jordarr8994 5 жыл бұрын
M. M. That's precisely why this group needs a singer because 99% of this style is just chilling on a vamp for while with very minimal soloing. While me as a musician admire their patience and restraint I do get underwhelmed as I'm listening to these world class musicians and I always want some more. I personally don't care for the singer but if that audience is a decent mixture of say 60% Musicians and 40% non musicians that 40% doesn't have that bridge of musicality to connect to it like the musicians do that's why even though I love to play Instrumental jazz fusion I like to have a singer for 2-3 songs because the common man just doesn't understand what the hell is going on stage.
