12:12 2013 to 2015 CS:GO lounge was a lawless wasteland lmao. 12 year olds just slamming 500 value bets like it was nothing. Crazy how no one gave a fuck lol

In a funny way losing money on CSGO Lounge at 14-17 years old was what got gambling out of my system. Now as an adult I have 0 interest in gambling or sports betting. Don't miss the anixety of placing a $60-120 bet overnight and waking up with an intense anxiety and rush to check the website. Also the match-fixing was something else, T3 German teams always having weird results
@thatgamingfreak7 ай бұрын
@JuicyG_ there was also that period of time where every chinese match was fixed and the organizers would fake bet the lower side as high favorites and swap their bets right before it locked once the dumb money followed them in

@@JuicyG_ being an adult already, nearly 30 at the time, and being someone who's never understood how skins have real world value, I never had any anxeity about placing bets on CSGO lounge. I made a "fortune" in skins by making insane bets on underdogs, precisely because I didn't pay a penny for the skins in the first place. Those skins sat in my steam account until about 6 months ago, when I sold my entrie inventory on the steam market. I've been paying for games and Rust skins with the proceeds. glad you got the gambling out of your system when you were young, and learned the lessons. unfortunately, many didn't.

@@JuicyG_ Same same. I invested around 100$ back then. Lost most of it, traded the remains for some nice skins and nowadays they're worth like 400$ lul. No interest in gambling anymore.

It was the same in 1.6 with Germans, if you didn't have a screenshot showing you played with 32 bit smokes instead of 16 bit or someone in your team forgot to record a demo they would try and forfeit you. They would also wait until the very last second to join a game and if any of your players wasn't on for any reason they'd call admin and try and claim a win for you not showing up in time. Granted this wasn't just done by Germans but I can tell you the feeling on the Swedish side of the 1.6 scene I came in contact with was that they were the worst culprits in all of this. They also had a reputation for being cheaters. Actually interesting to hear this was the same in Source and that this feeling was not just prevalent in the Swedish scene.

@@almightyIrie as a german as well, what works for me to get rid of both the toxicity and the not speaking English is this: refusing to speak german even though my profile clearly says „Germany“ after a few rounds of trying with german they will either a) switch to English as well if they are the friendly kind b) stop talking shit when they are the awful kind. Just complete lack of acknowledgment of their german-ness basically fixed playing with Germans for me.

In 2015 I was 16. That wasn’t even my peak of csgo lounge use. These people used and discarded minors for their love of CS, (skin addiction on top) for profit. Idk, there won’t ever be reasonable change now, I still love CS but like everything else in the world right now in feels predatory.

I am German and a friend of mine, who was much better at CS than I was at the time, used to play with TONI after he was brought up randomly one time and TONI was happy enough with his performance. I have a lot of memories from that time but essentially there is nothing in this video that I would disagree with. TONI really did love the game and was great at it (can't speak for the others) but obviously that does not excuse the behavior at times. I will say I was lowkey expecting jbree LOCHER (Yannick Noe) to get a mention at some point, as he was one of the most well known players (in a negative sense) in the German community, but I guess he was more on the cheating rather than the matchfixing side ^^

Richard lewis is a genuine human being His ethics, humanity, and real life view of life is something to strive for The redditors and haters don't want to face reality, which Richard Lewis lives and breathes, and project themselves into pro gamers life since they can't get to that level ❤ On that note I am quite confused on why the "banned team who forfeited a meaningless game" isn't a competitive integrity breaker? Much like stewie2k did when he did the same and was called out? Unless I misheard or the circumstances are different Would love to know and discuss ❤
