I think 10:40 - 11:37 highlights what made this battle and movie so good. The rebels get their small victories, destroying a walker here and there, but the Empire is just so unstoppable that it doesn't matter. This battle really did a great job of showing what fighting the Empire was like through most of the war. The idea that no matter what you did they could just keep coming.

biggest failing of later starwars is making the Empire keystone cops. in order for a threat to have menace it needs to be competent. I was just watching "X-Men: Days of future past" The opening sequence of the Sentinels attack is perfect for showing how out matched the heros are and how powerful the threat is. Then you have Disney Starwars where the "first order" are both comically overpowered and comically incompetent, making them complete garbage. Here is how you build a menacing threat being held off by a band of underdogs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/il66mZyDfMt7f9U Not this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIixZ6Gng7V7rK8

@@jazzx251 Took me a while to eventually see Andor but I agree with your comment. True Story: I actually found an autographed copy of The Empire Strikes Back Novelization at Goodwill! Inside were the autographs of John Morton (Dak Ralter himself!) and Donald F. Gult (the book's author!). An autographed copy of the ESB novelization and it was sitting on the Goodwill shelf for $1.99!!! It's now a fine addition to my collection.

10:10 will always be my favorite part of this masterpiece. I feel like this part of the music really hammers in the realization that the empire is actually winning.

@@user-oo3oi9ki2j I do like that part quite a bit too, the original timestamp I pointed out just feels totally hopeless which I really enjoy. Really gets across the fact that the Rebels are on the run.

It does sorta feel very deceptive. The triumphant Star Wars theme is playing, but it slowly becomes more and more desperate sounding, as it's not about winning a battle, but trying to escape total destruction.
