I've actually thought about the combiner set ups in this way back talking to a builder I was learning from n the early 2000s. The silk screen on the switch panel does say "TX_EN" next to the jumper.

I have the Schematic for that amp. That amp is my daily driver. I also have a texas star dx250 and a x-force base 200. I always go back to the RM Italy. My high low med works fine but I leave it on medium. I use the center setting on sideband. I don't think that that amp is sold anymore.

I finally found the schematic the other day and added it to my archive and yes this amp would make a great driver. These when biased, TS all are awesome drivers!!....Thanks for stopping by my channel brother and feel free to take a look around.

That blue solder sucker is a: DS017 The Original EDSYN Deluxe Desoldering Solder Sucker SOLDAPULLT Made in USA I also recommend the SX951 loner iron! I seen them hold up for 25 years on a military production line ran 24 seven 365! That’s saying something for the heater! Its wand or heater is replaceable for less than $50 retail!

WR789 Tom Northern Idaho. Could you repair my KL7505 for me? I have the same problem. I can't find a replacement faceplate; thermal protection and fans need work. I can pay you.

I have not seen this one. I had KL 506 and 300 ,did a few KL 203P . I got the tube base amp. KLV 1000 has 5 tubes. 240V 50Hz but just fine on 60 Hz. I bet a chip or transistor went bad on that face board pulling to much from 5V why the heat. What on that bord should not draw much 5V dc. That a low pass filter on output. may be 54Mhz and up. I wouldn't run that hard. that a trace board and not much heat sink or fan. and small pills. They all hard to work on. I got a working KL 35 . has a mosfet and no relay. diode switching .got it on trade. when amp is on it cuts the receive .Was the complaint. it's the diode switching that the problem . draws about 3 amps. most radios today do more than that amp. it's just a little thing. works great FM .does not make much heat at 30 watt RMS FM power. 73's

I have a kl40 with the no relay switching when on no receive problem. The power switch was going bad in my case. The pass through what routed through the power switch.

That is really cool.... I am guessing it is using pin diodes for the switching maybe....I have a cheap cheap preamp from a truck stop here and it blew my mind that it used diode switching to switch and bypass the preamp....I thought that was the coolest thing man lol....I would love to play around with them one day....I drew a pictorial schematic of it for future reference.

Thanks for stopping by my channel with that information....I just spent an hour looking at pictures and you ARE exactly right Ten Tech was the first to do this and theirs is a 8 transistor setup using this method. WoW that Ten Tech Hercules II is one machine my friend. I WANT ONE!!!! :)

I think BBI did some videos on the Hercules amplifier. Anyway I used to own one. It had bigger than their standard issue transistors installed. I think it usually comes with MRF458s in it (not certain) but mine had SD1405 and it had a band switch setting that enabled it to go a little above 30mhz. I got the feeling it was used in a military application... maybe military mobile. That technique of effectively placing the output transformers in series is an interesting one and apart for a certain simplicity I wonder if there is other advantages like better harmonic performance. It certainly would be efficient if it's done correctly
