WOW all with in 1 ! I hope to see that more often. That shows quality controller in the making of them is getting better. This makes amps more stable in multi pill amps. HG does have a few FET's now. Some new HF 10 meter radios out now. QT80 and Washington. not sure what finals using. 80 watt radio . Icom new radio . 200 watt and LD Mos finals . Japan has some newer LD Mos pills now. Time will tell how they hold up. Love what HG sending. The HFE being only 1 apart means more than just a high number. 73

Nice looking good! I get the same watts out of them long as there in the high 50's HFE or more. I agree the higher the better. Guess it takes more to draw them down.

Can you tell me the value of the blue can capacitor in the center of your video? ..next to the 3 parallel diodes. Mine exploded and i can't discern the value. Thank you!!!
@georgio4810113 сағат бұрын
Edit: Mine has 3 diodes parallel to each other, yours has a single diode next to that capacitor. Thanks!!

How much for a matched pair of HG2SC2879’s? How about 2 10 ohm 1/2 Watt resistors as well. Or I have one Toshiba that’s still good. Can you use a match for that- it’s showing HFE 41

As far as I can see in every video, extremely high-quality workmanship, attention is paid to every detail. What particularly impresses me is the good arrangement of components. The measurements are better than I expected from amplifiers made in such small dimensions. To your credit, the amplifiers are superb. Greetings from Croatia. Mile (Mike), 9A9Y

There he is, hello 9A9Y, hello Mike, thank you so much for being my first comment from Croatia 🇭🇷 It was a pleasure making contact via FT8 with your daughter 😀 Thanks for the greatest, very nice comment. When I build a mono banded or wide banded solid state amplifier, I try to make it work as well as it looks. I take a log of pride in the physical layout, but at the same time making it work as well as possible making sure the input and output is as close to 50 ohms as possible. Please stop by my channel any time Mike.

@@1883GotDown Something I didn't think about before. Have you ever tried "low temperature solder" also called low melt to remove the transistors without having to lift their tabs? If you haven't, i can mail you a stick to try. You only use a drop of it, head up the connection add a small bit and the connection stays liquid for perhaps 5; seconds.

I lot of work. But came out good. Buyer beware from eBay !! That could easily become a true DX 500V with a few more parts. Looks like my DX 500 I took in traid. Blown pills broken meter . Blown parts. The switches were good but some lamps blown. I put #73 auto lamps in. they fit but a tad loose. dab of RTV done. I put KDS 301 NC 140F thermal switch whear driver went. I put RCA jack for PTT line. Done threw a optocoupler. Just a few MA of current to ground on RCA jack and keys. Great SSB. Haven't used it in years .Thermal switch in series with PTT line. If you want to do that thermal protection with keying circuit. Just break power side to relay. amp gets hot relay drop out . I have put in on POS leat to power switch but turns off the whole amp . If you want the receive amp part to work when HOt then has to be done ar relay side. You could just lift a transistor lead of keting transistor to do this. Whatever easest . 73
