Rm's indigo album is truly one of the best kpop albums I've ever heard at least from the 6 years that I've been in kpop, every track on that album has a deep meaning and so beautifully done and every feature was perfectly put, he's a poet when it comes to lyrics fr and his production is just as good GOD I LOVED THIS ALBUM truly from the bottom of my heart. My fav b-sides were lonely and closer but like every song was just as good and I think you should react to j-hope's stuff after with "more" and "arson" which have mvs and also his latest song before his enlistment "on the street" it was soooo good that you shouldn't miss out on it!!!! but ofc you should do whatever you like

The second verse is my favorite lyrically. It just has...so many good lines. Society is all about the loudest voice, and here I am, still speaking silence...oof.

6:50, agree completely. This song makes my heart ache, but at the same time its beautiful...i feel like he shows his struggle, but also his acceptance, and his return to the things that ground him, a return to his sense of self.

RM spent years writing this song. He asked Youjeen and she was hesitant because she felt she was too old and too loud as a punk rock singer but he used her voice like fireworks popping in the song. He was right she’s the only voice that fits. Such an amazing song. The whole album is art. The first track Yun with Erkyah Badu must not be missed.

I love all of RMs work. But i think this song is his best work to date. To me he has poured his heart and soul on how he is feeling about his fame. He is a lyrical genius.

With Rm the world "feels" is what comes to my mind, I always feel how he is feeling. He gives u music to connect with him and feel what is he feeling at the moment, a lot of emotions, indigo is such a good album. He clearly had a vision for his music and he did an amazing job executing this album. He is an amazing artist

Idol music quite often involves taking on a persona. Meeting the public expectations of that persona often means distancing yourself from your underlying person. In Namjoon's case, he says he wants to get back to the poetry which made for his love of music as opposed to going through the incessant trappings of fame which he neither expected nor hoped for. He is not saying he cannot handle fame, but much as expressed a few years earlier in Black Swan, he needs to reset by connecting with his inner "shadows" in order to "individuate" (from BTS's Jungian expressions). In his case he wants to feel the ground again so he can rise up true to himself rather than simply keep flying in the sky.

It's off the brilliant creative album INDIGO where every track is a different genre. Much loved by musicians and artists this is a future cult classic and should be listened to in order. RM calls it the diary of his 20s, but for me it's the perfect representation of the confusing troublesome times we have lived through. For instance LONELY is my perfect lockdown song. RM secured two industry venerables who normally refuse all invitations to collaborate. Youjeen and Erykah Badu. The many different collaborations through out this have been chosen with a mastery. RM has somehow by using collaborations as a whole album has created that elusive something NEW..

Thank you for the reaction. I feel like you might like snooze from Suga’s album if you have not heard that. I love the boys so much. Their individual colours really shine through their solos and it’s difficult to pick a favourite.

RM can do no wrong in his solo work, seriously. Indigo is astonishing, and his mixtape Mono kept me alive through a tough time. All of the members' solo work is fascinating. They are truly a supergroup. Everyone but Jin put out an album last year, but don't miss Jin's single "The Astronaut" released right before he went in for his military service.

There's wordplay like all good Rappers as Wildflower and Firework are similar words in Korean. RM is foremost a poetic, when Bang PD meet him he couldn't believe this 17year old Rapper could write such meaninful poetic lyrics. But RM does has an IQ of 148 and speaks 3 language's fluently. He's also a huge lover of Art, Books and Nature. This is from his last Solo Album Indigo where he's the song writer, Composer, Producer and Sound Engineer.

I think it'd be interesting for you to check out one song from his first and self-titled mix tape (2015), one from his second mix tape Mono (2018), and then another from his most recent work Indigo (his first studio album, 2022). From the first mix tape, I'd recommend "Do You." From second mix tap, I'd recommend "Forever Rain." From Indigo, I'd recommend literally anything because it is a masterpiece lol. Maybe you'd enjoy his Tiny Desk, one song from Mono and two from Indigo.

Honestly i feel, Indigo album just cannot be boxed into 'kpop' or even just 'hiphop'. It's so much profound, a combination of genres, with roots in hiphop. Better word to describe it would be an art gallery. Each song with different theme. The songs are like moving from one art piece to another in a gallery. I think that's how RM wanted us to enjoy the album. There are so many collabs, but instead of 'featuring' , the songs are called ' song name with artist name'. Considering the production, concept and lyrics, this album deserved a Grammy nomination at the very least. But well, Grammys are...not the best indicator of music quality. Anyway, the best flowers for an art is for more and more people to find and appreciate it.

I feel like you would love their solos from their Wings album and love yourself album, especially Jimin's Lie I always thought that'd be a song you would absolutely love and the live perfomance of it is just beautiful, but also all the members solos, as a Jin bias seeing how much you enjoyed his voice I gotta recommend his song Awake, and V's Stigma (his vocals live are insane on this) and Singularity and there's so many others for the other members that this comment would get even longer so I'll leave it there LOL but every member has some good solos that I think you'll find something you'll love from each of them whether it's new solo work or solos as bts on their albums

In my true honest opinion the song is good, but the chorus is the "meat and potatoes" of this song. Its so good, her voice is charismatic, powerful and full of raw emotion. TBH - FOR ME its the most rememberable part of the song. The chorus is just so good it kinda overshadows the verses. And thats no shade on RM (no pun intended) coz his lyrical ability is good, the chorus is just phenomenally executed.

But with RM, it is extremely important to read the lyrics. He is a lyrical genius and in this song particularly his lyrics were important. Youjeen was wonderful, but the lyrics were intense just after they announced they were going solo. RM is also a great rapper often rhyming English with Korean.

⁠⁠@@sharonlahaye5803 Exactly. The reason everyone gets chills during the chorus is because of Namjoon’s perfectly executed emotional build up. The angst you can hear while he delivers his desperate lyrics leads to the emotional catharsis of the chorus. Without his expert lyricism and his emotive delivery, the chorus wouldn’t feel nearly as moving.

Group work try A TRUTH UNTOLD, HOUSE OF CARDS BLACK SWAN BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS FAKE LOVE BAEPSAE(but its impossible without an explaination video to explain this witty scathing comentary on the system. You need slang cultural references explained. Then watch the performance video. They wrap social commentary with a catchy tune and hilarious choreo. Thats BTS for you.
