This thread is hilarious. Michael has some good lines and comebacks. I was watching the bachelor and I couldn't stop laughing, I was crying.

I've seen one of these seminars of Michael's on KZbin, and this heckler named "Russ" just laid in to michael about CDs! Michael handled it like a pro! Michael had a smart answer for everything thing this CD fan heckler threw at him! It's funny, you never see an "analogue guy" go to "digital seminars" and heckle them, at least not nearly as much! I always wonder why these guys feel so threatened and insecure?!😂

whatever people think ,if you set a turntable up correctly the result can be sublime!-those who do not understand this are just plain ignorant to the fact!

Michael, I wouldn't waste your time responding to the negative knuckle heads. They simply don't understand our level of music or the language we are speaking. They know nothing about vinyl or turntables and why what you are showing here is critical. They will die listening to flat, boring and image-less digital music. Thanks for taking the time to educate us in proper TT set-up and getting us closer to hitting that sweet spot!

Amazing amount of excellent information here. That Micheal has all the toys to check this stuff may make sense for a $10,000 cartridge and $30,000 turntable, but makes no sense for me. I can afford the plastic ruler though. Now to make that tool do all the things he suggests.

What type of digital microscope and what magnification do you use?...Was interested in getting one but wanted to make sure that it has the right program that can draw the angles etc., tnx

Very cool. I wear a Submariner, so I'm into watches almost as much as I'm into stereo gear and music.

You know, i'm not rich and it makes me keep an old cheap Philips cartridge after i broke Grado Gold and Green the same way, when wiring it. The coil conductor just fell off from soldering pin inside the same way. I'm afraid to buy a third one, not repairing those tho. Impossible myself to do. Pins may twist or any hit making this broke. So, i know, that got to be careful with these Grado's cause they did a cheap plastic housing, but Gold was sound pretty well.

Never turntable setup could be a HS course? Very informative! So, azimuth is the angle of the stylus to the record groove.
@andyvan56922 жыл бұрын
nice video, but one correction!- a 'turntable', is a large lazy susan, which turns the front and rear of a diesel train around!!, what you are setting up is a 'RECORD PLAYER', as this is what the thing does!!

so you weigh the arm at an angle and height that is not where the record is....brilliant, DUH!

He obsesses but if you listen, contradicts every single "fact" or "spec". Fact is, he doesnt know. He's doing his best guess just like everyone else. He has no idea what angle the stylus is at. He has no idea if he got anti skate right.

Demagnetizes plastic records, and claims of course he hears the IMPROVED sound!! hahhahahahahahhahahaahahahahaha

Vinyl records do have problems with generated static electricity. You don't "de-magnetize" it, but you do have to remove the static if you want to keep the dust away and not hear pops while playing.

@@cengeb not everyone , we all have different frequency ranges we can hear , some people can't hear certain high frequency pitches or low ones , get a hearing test and see where you are at , also you need to train your ear , any musician has to train their ears to hear the notes correctly and to hear the notes in the scale correctly , this takes years to learn , music is the most complicated thing there is and not everyone can hear it .
