Most motorcycles are just run in at 50 hours use. KTM & Huskies are on the table for a rebuild @50 hours. I think I'll buy a Honda when it comes to my next dirtbike.

You might be surprised that the maintenance intervals listed in the owners manual for piston replacement on Japanese bikes are typically every five races or 12-15 hours of run time. Those intervals are typically for pro riders that want to maintain maximum performance, and we realize most people won't replace their piston that often. Using a compression tester during periodic maintenance can help you know when things are wearing out. -Charles
