Thanks. The vice method is what we used for car's u-joints. Don't do enough bike suspension (at age 70) to justify the Motion Pro kit. Does sound like a great kit for people who do more. Great video

Thank you for the video, replaced the top bearing today using a C-clamp. Your directions made it pretty simple.

Great video, but I discovered my 1996 XR250R has the spherical bearings BUT NO SHOULDER OR CIRCLIPS. You just have to press it out like any other bearing, then center the new bearing by eye. Bit of a pain, as I kept overshooting the center.....would be nice to have that locating shoulder.

I replace mine every couple years or so if they need it or not.

mxkied72 Thanks for your input. That's usually a good schedule to be on. Mack Mkay These parts should be inspected regularly and replaced when necessary. With some riders they'll get replaced every race season and with others they might last the entire time the person owns the bike. It just depends on how much the machine is ridden and in what conditions. If you replaced them every couple of years and kept up on regular maintenance you'd stay running smooth!

@@rmatvmc I had a Burgman 650 for 8 years and never once replaced the shock bearings. The seals went on them first so I had to replace each side once. I do 35 miles a day in all seasons so they got plenty of use.

Do the lips on the seals face outwards or inwards?

The bottom seals face inwards (grooved side of seal towards the inside) On the top the tapered (rounded side) faces inwards.
