Good video and great reminder on those odd service items. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't ever use a pressure washer on a bike. You increase the chance push water into every point & electrical part that shouldn't have water, but you also push your grease & lube out of you bushings and chain. If a garden hose can't get it, use a soft brush.
@rmatvmc6 жыл бұрын
Lawman, you must be the most patient man ever haha. I do use a pressure but I try to avoid those areas and keep more distance when i'm hitting bearing and pivot points, and electrical items. But that is the ideal way to do it, not doubt. Thanks for sharing!

@rmatvmc5 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of variables to take into consideration but the Honda service manual recommends replacing the piston and rings every 3 races or about 7.5 hours. These are under race conditions and if you are doing easier riding this can definitely be extended. But remember, it's a lot cheaper to replace piston/rings than the whole bottom end or cylinder itself. You can also do a compression test and see where you're at. Nice CR by the way!
@truckstreestoys5 жыл бұрын

*Armin Sollfrank* That's a good question. If you're keeping up with your bike maintenance and greasing you can usually get by with a regreasing of the bearings. You shouldn't need to replace your linkage bearings unless they are showing signs of grooving in the needle bearing race, broken needle bearings or showing signs of rust and starting to seize up. Then you would want to replace them. You would just want to inspect them really close and see what kind of condition they're in. Hope this helps.

LMAO. You've never taken apart a silencer before have you. Regardless of what you may believe, the combustion process is never 100% complete. You will never burn 100% of the air-fuel mixture that enters your combustion chamber. The percentage is even worse with 2 strokes vs. 4 strokes due to the exhaust port being exposed at the same time as the air-fuel mixture is brought into the cylinder via the intake. Two strokes actually have a portion of the air-fuel mixture that passes straight through the cylinder and out the exhaust port, completely by-passing the combustion cycle. And where do you think that unburnt air-fuel mixture and carbon by-product from the combustion cycle ends up? A portion does blow out silencer but a lot adheres to the expansion chamber interior walls, the perforated stinger inside your silencer and on the packing material in your silencer. In the case of four stroke engines, they have the benefit of valves closing off the cylinder during the compression and combustion strokes, but there still remains a small amount of unburnt air-fuel mixture and carbon by-product that exit the cylinder during the exhaust stroke. Simply stating, "If your bike is jetted properly, your silencer shouldn’t be clogged." shows a complete lack of knowledge of how combustion and engines work. But thanks for your input.

Can you make a maintenance video for people who don’t have pockets full of money. Pretty sure the average person doesn’t have all of this shit sitting around their house, so they’re really not jobs “any rider can do”. It’s more along the lines of “jobs riders with money to burn can do”.

Bearing grease- $7 Fork oil- $10-20 Cable luber- $18 cable lube - $15 Silencer packing - $16.99 Tusk Spoke torque wrench - $85 Tusk Truing Stand - $69.99 I understand that nothing is free and there are riders who can't buy everything all at once, but when compared to the price to replace or repair damaged parts, these items really aren't bad. Start with the jobs you know you need first and gradually work from there. We have how-to videos for each one of these items so you can do them from home and save money. -Chase

Wish you had the bike to show where exactly these pivot points are

Steering headset is the bearings in the frame where the forks attach. Every one of the 67 new mx bikes ive owned came with no grease in the bearings. And no the dealer wont even look there. Next is the swingarm. Every moving point has bearings the need to be removed cleaned and greased often. Your rear shock has its own bearings top and bottom also that need grease.

Everything functions properly kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZbin. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!
