In the American Revolution... Troops without Bayonets... were given or instructed to carry Tomahawks. as standard equipment. ..They also used a War Whoop with it.

The "spiked" end isn't actually supposed to be sharp, it's mainly for prying though it doesn't have to be sharp to tear down concrete, metal, or wood. The whole tomahawk is differentially heated so that the edge is hard enough to crack concrete and pierce metal while still being able to hold it's edge and resist shock. The edge will hold fine even when put to extremes and the whole crafting process ensures the best performance and reliability which to me at-least, makes it worth the price.

I guess nobody pointed out at 0:10 the guy holding the hawk in the picture is made by Omnivore Bladeworks...

2:28...The tanto tip on the spiked end looks completely destroyed. Would someone be able to resharped/reform the spike easily after that with a file and ceramic sharpener? Also, how does the forward edge hold up while striking things like concrete and hardened metal. Wouldn't that completely destroy the sharp edge? How do they work around that. Looks cool though and I think it serves a versatile role for a lot of different groups. Would love to swing it. VEEERRRRYYYY Expensive though.

@danielb83786 жыл бұрын
TNPmarksman it's good. No doubt about that but a spear or a decent sword is a far better combat weapon in my opinion. Not taking away from these tomahawks though. Their versatility and multiple uses make them the best all rounder.

I'm in the Army and as lower enlisted I think I speak for a lot of soldiers when I say these are overpriced and way out of range. I like 'em, but for the right price I'd love one.

I appreciate this comment. Most of the people in the armed forces I find who swear by these reveal they don't come out of pocket for them.

Great tool, very impressive. Can't see why there are complaints on price if it was originally designed for Spec. Force application. Next, there will be the same complaint if a civilian has to buy an A.W.P. ha ha ha ha ha

The 2nd amendment will not be taken without war,this tomahawk is still a great addition to your personal defense
@B1L1H19 жыл бұрын
These are waaaaaay over priced at $450+ each. Nice design and well engineered I presume. $450 for a tomahawk? They have priced themselves out of the market group (non-government) who would otherwise purchase huge quantities of these for private use .
@rustyshackleford179 жыл бұрын
They seem to be doing just fine considering how long the wait is for one. If you want to go ever higher, look at a Winkler Sayoc. Those buggers are $800-900 That said, RMJ and Winkler both have a very low failure rate (I'm sure cost has something to do with taht). I haven't heard about one breaking in a good number of years.
@timk.23815 жыл бұрын
I think the y are not overpriced, the material is really expensive hardend steel and forging and creating is not really easy. with another cheaper tomahawk you can not go through a concrete wall.

@1.37, You say the soldier claims to have used the RMJ to punch a hole through a concrete wall,...but the image you provide looks more like the result of a hole made in an Afghanistani mud wall.
@clarkfamilyadventuretours50527 жыл бұрын
Dude, its on KZbin so its totally real. :) I have a feeling that you and I both know how easy it is to bust those walls and they do not have "concrete". My Kabar and a rock can make that hole. BUT..That being said, these are very cool hawks...just too expensive for something that doesn't shoot bullets.

zubb8 did it ever occur to you that they found some stock footage of a soldier shooting thru a hole and that video of the escape hole is non existant. Sigh.....

I don't want because the military has one. I don't want one because of some old myth. I want one because I like TOMAHAWKs and have many and use them. It's more of a spiritual of the blade thing. lol this guy

***** jothegreek Yep especially if it saved a whole group of soliders as in the story from the video. I'll agree it's pricey for average Joe Schmo, but to each is own. They obviously are a successful business and preferred by military.

+jothegreek If my life was on the line I'd gladly pay the extra money knowing that no corners have been cut in craftmanship, materials or quality control. A cheap tomahawk might be good or it might be crap but the middle of a warzone is a bad time to find out.

LMFAO!!!!!!! I did a spit take when I saw the $425 asking price on their website. Then again all they have to do is sell 10 or so per year to geardos and they'll cover yearly operating costs. Hell, for that much I'd just rather just buy a off the shelf 9mm and a Cold Steel Trench Hawk.
@samuelwilliamson36949 жыл бұрын
I understand were you are coming from here. $425 is a lot of money. But you pay for the quality, I know this is not true all the time, and yes, I do own a Cold Steel trench hawk and love it, along with a SOG fast hawk, and M48 hawk, but the RMJ will out perform any Cold Steel or SOG. And when you are in combat, or there is someone trapped in a car at a crash site, I would definitely be glad to have payed the extra money. So yes they are expensive, but I have to respectfully disagree with your comparison to the Cold Steel. The RMJ will last you multiple life times and take the toughest abuse, within reason (One of my friends pointed out that if you trow it into the sun it would break) :-). I would definitely recommend an RMJ tomahawk to any one.
