I don't know if a lot of people on here realize that Canada and the US are allies and share a lot of military resources; NORAD being one they mentioned in this video. Mike Hunt in the comments mentioned that Canada sits back while the US does all these cool things in space... The Canadian Arm revolutionized the International Space station, and Canada is a huge contributor to NASA... Being patriotic towards your Country is an awesome thing, but don't forget countries like Canada play a big part in the support of your way of life and freedom.

For those mocking Canada and us not building jets...may I remind you that in the 1950s we built the AVRO Arrow with Iroquois engines that could go to sub-orbital altitude and Mach 2. It put even current jets to shame and was only cancelled because President Eisenhower was scared shitless of its capability and was jealous that the US didn't build it and convinced our unfortunately gullible Prime Minister that underachieving American Bomarc missiles were the way to go. Take that.
@marktaras68344 жыл бұрын

@VNSki The F-15SE is 100M$, the F-35A is 120M$. The F-35 has a (comparitably) very user-friendly cockpit, lowering the training time required, and thus, reduce the cost. It also has more internal hardpoints for weapons + bigger cannon. The range on internal fuel is similar, despite being smaller. F-35 has a smaller radar cross-section. Not saying the F-15SE sucks, because that would be my second option. But it seems like something that would need replacing in 15 years as oppose to 30.

I love this show and watched many of them multiple times, but this is something I have to pick at. This is not his first time in a G-suit yet he acts same both times like he doesn't even know the name, I know it's a scripted show but get a little better with the details :) I know Rick does not often mention his experiences from previous shows during filming new ones and most of the shows seem like a first time experience. But that small detail kinda ruins it for ya when you see that flaw. Like watching a movie and even tho you are immersed in fiction, if you saw a car get less damaged during a high speed chase, you would loose that focus. Still very much enjoyed it just my 2c on how it could have been better.

C Genious Actually the official canadian designation for the american made CF18 is actually the CF188 [CF188A for single seat and CF188B for two seat]. However as Dassault Aimpoint stated, its more widely known as the CF18 Hornet.
@ChuckBeefOG9 жыл бұрын
I always thought the single was a CF18 and the tandem seater was CF118. Learn something new every day. They used to rip over my house at least once a month where I lived at school. You could always tell when they were coming in because the sound would drown out the whole city and I would run to the window like a child each time.

C Genious yeah they sound absoluteley astonshing, i was at CSTC greenwood last july, and they would rip over every 3 days, either at 5 in the morning or 4 in the afternoon. hardly any noise whn your facing the intakes, but the burner can side, man it shakes buildings! cant wait to go back, beautiful things!
@RePete0213 жыл бұрын
We don't need a single engine fighter to patrol our disputed arctic borders. Although our CF18s have all the upgrades, they are ending their service life. Personally I think the Super Hornet would be a better buy for us, given we already have the pilots and facilities in place to operate and maintain the aircraft. But in the end it will be all about politics and not common sense.

Obviously NORAD is essential to our defense, but I wouldn't agree to buying F-35 just because of this purpose. Our current fleets of CF-18 can do this with ease. I never said our navy is our best equipped branch. I'm saying we need to upgrade our navy because it's starting to get out of date. We are surrounded by water, therefore our NAVY is also essential. Give me some reasons to why you think F-35 is the most essential thing... We're leaving the middle east soon anyways.
