A superlative ship. Thank you for sharing these great pictures. I'm wondering if the furniture we see was on the Bismarck/Majestic when she was taken over by the White Star Line or if the furniture came from furniture companies in Britain.
@carlosiiideespana37124 жыл бұрын
Andrew Brendan It doesn’t have the look of Harland and Wolff, so likely German. Some new furniture was probably added or subtracted though, although it appears to have remained mostly the same.

@@carlosiiideespana3712 agreed because when hamburg american line still have there hands on the ship her interiors where made with styles mixed in the competition some elements where from the olympic class like her panelings of her lounge some from Cunards trio so its really clear that Harland and wolf does not need to change things aside from some fernitures or maybe some cabins to fit white star

She was often referred too as the Magic Stick by the crew, and she truly was. It's such a shame these vessels were not preserved as Museums into our past. We have truly lost a bit of our humanity.
@zeddeka9 ай бұрын
You have to look at the era they existed in. There were far more important things than preserving ships in that period, such as providing livelihoods for people in the depression, or fighting wars. Preserving a ship when people were struggling to be able to afford to eat, or fighting to save their country, would have seemed incredibly flippant to people back then.
