As far as the 'long winded instruction', once you realize all they are going to do is give you a heading, tell you to maintain the altitude that is already on your chart for the approach (9 times out of 10), and then clear you to the runway you already know you are going to land on, it's really nothing. The only thing you really have to remember is that heading. The altitude is right there on the chart and you already know what runway you're gonna get cleared to land on. 1. Heading. 2. Maintain altitude that is already right there on your approach chart on the side view. 3. The runway you already know you are going to land on.

That was an amazing approach! I love Block Island so thanks for the ride along. I noticed the D10A is 20 knots faster than the Skyview? Great looking panel!

Thank you. The D10A is in MPH. I kept it that way because I am use to MPH for 12yrs. Since pretty much everything is knots in IFR I changed the SkyView to knots and kept the D10A in MPH for a reference. I will be changing it very soon to knots.

I'm puzzled by what appears to be the instructor's directions to continue the descent below the DA, contrary to the regulations in CFR 91.175. At 55:17 the Dynon announces "minimums" followed in a couple seconds by the instructor saying "I have approach lights. You can keep it going..." Yes, 91.175 allows descent below the DA down to 100' AGL if approach lights are "distinctly visible", but the approach chart and airport information don't mention the existence of any approach lights at Block Island. There are REIL's, however. Are they what the instructor saw and used for the decision to go below DA? If so, I don't think that's legit. Am I missing something?

If you want to raise your YTchannel to the next level, find out how to add your plane's real time data to show on screen as we watch. I keep trying to see your temperature gauges, and if they were on screen 100% of the time, I'm sure you'd attract many more viewers because other channels aren't doing it either. Start the trend, reap the rewards. If you replace all those cameras with a single Insta360 setup at the location of the one that gives the view at 55:50, with instruments displayed along the top of frame, I'm certain your channel will thrive and you'll ease your own media nightmare of storage space and the Insta360 doesn't overheat like GoPro.
