The kitchen curtains are cute. I'm not convinced they were moonshiners cause of being so close to the road and the police can just pop in and arrest them but those jugs may have been filled with moonshine for them. Great find and thanks for sharing.

Not really sure what the lay out was in this one, but there seems to have been a child here at one time and I have notice a lot of the fireplaces in the childrens rooms are blocked off

I appreciate your love of older architecture. And you don't have to go into big abandoned buildings. It makes you wonder why the kids didn't pick up the houses when their parents were gone.why tdid their kids just beautiful homes it's a mystery?

It's a strange house ! There's no plaster or sheet rock, is that because it's so hot and humid in this part of the south!??? Huge rooms and beautiful fire sourounds so cool!! It's a really solid house I'm shocked it's been abandoned!! That weird sink might have been for the kids to play it's not plumbed!! Great house Rob!!!😮😮😮

Porches in the south have their ceilings painted blue to keep away the haints (haunts, ghosts). The range of blue colors are called haint blues. Ceilings inside the house that are blue are thought to deter spiders, mud dobbers and wasps but I don’t think it works. It probably was done as more of a way to use up the leftover haint blue paint after the porch was done.

It's a crime to let all that fantastic craftsmanship go to rot. Someone should save that artists work. Pull out the fireplace and all the doors and wall panels. Someone put a lot of work into them and they should be saved and re-used. If it was me I would want someone to save my work and a piece of me instead of letting it go to rot. That way long after I'm forgotten a piece of me will still be around and appreciated.
