In my view, this vlogger is by far the best presenter on this project. He allows the videos to do the talking, he talks when necessary. His narration is measured, easy to follow, his voice pitch is ideal, not in your face and loud. He focuses on the project and doesn’t get embroiled into anything smelling of politics. He’s timely with his comments and you can always rely on him to be descriptive and direct. He leaves nothing hanging. Very humble and thorough presenter. On top of that he has manners. More strength to you my youth. May your business grow. I’ve just subscribed.

Once again, S & G is proving that Jamaica has contractors who can do good (major) reliable road work. Thanks for these videos, little bro.

CHEC builds roads all around the world. Working along with them is a good opportunity to learn how to build roads to international standards. I wish the other contractors would take advantage of the opportunity the way that S&G has done.

That job looks messy and dangerous to me. I hope they plan to control soil erosion that will inadvertently result from digging down the hillside.

This is the only part of the improvement that inam not please with. Looks like a very expensive mistake. I think the initial plan was fraud and everyday we keep on adding ways to correct.

Agreed! This section should have been realigned using an overpass. The beautiful hillside have been destroyed ( I'm sure they needed it somewhere for fill) and the gain is not evident to me. That is still a difficilt hairpin curve on a slope, similar to Spur Tree Hill. Additionally, the view would have been spectacular from an overpass, green hills on one side and the magnificent Caribbean sea on the other. I take it the went this route to make it easier for a local contractor to do it as I don't believe they could handle the engineering necessary to construct a world class overpass. If they had decided to realign this and gave it to CHEC I would bet money that would have been done already. Big miss here in my opinion.

Thanks for this detailed and clear update. Who is doing the work from White Horses to where the video ended? That road is horrible. They need to speed it up along that section. Residents there can't be left like that.

Building a bridge would be the best. the first time I drove on that road I stop the car and hand it over to my friend what they need is a bridge straight a cross
@kennoybrown3946

That hillside section where the bridge is frightening no joke. Just hope they put concrete drains at strategic lines along the terraced hill, like how CHEC does it. Great video tho.

Crossed my mind as well but maybe it would be too steep an incline. The usage of that stretch of road may have been taken into consideration. Those big trucks and trailers could be challenged by a steep incline, especially going down. Just saying.

I'm curious as to why the detour road wasn't widened and used as the main road (basically the way people are using the section now)? They've had to keep widening the hillside for the road and it looks dangerous and more trouble than its worth. I watched the video comparison you did of the area from 2018 to 2023 and so much of the natural flora is gone and it doesn't seem like they needed to do it this way. But I'm not an engineer so I don't know the logistics of the project I just hope they plant back as many trees as they can.
@paarieeastsidemedia
@paarieeastsidemedia Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, but I know that where the detour is its a river bed, so they probably don't want to trouble it too much

All of this it seems just to give trailers a wider turn. Why they didn't just build a drain and dump it up make it a straight road
@davidclayton2883
@davidclayton2883 Жыл бұрын
Some have argued that a straight road would be very steep. This approach allows for a more gradual incline.
