@young98 former binge drinker, withdrawal is different from a hangover. Hangovers are basically just waking up with severe dehydration, as your liver has to use up water to metabolize alcohol. Drinking more alcohol is not the thing that causes a hangover, drinking less water is. Drank several glasses a night of cheap scotch with iced tea as a chaser and regular drink, and I never got a hangover. I did get awful withdrawal symptoms, shakes included, when I stopped.

It's great that Bao has friends to look out for her during this. One of my mates got effed out of his face from wine during his birthday many years ago, a few of us looked after him, carried him to the toilet to throw up, and made sure he drank water, ate some food, and ultimately made sure he didn't vomit and choke on it whilst he was passed out. It's funny that he can drink a lot of beer and spirits, but wine just messes him up.
