The thing is, french culture is way different when it comes to physical contact, especially in public. iirc from my classes, they prefer their space and only really get physical with people they know extremely well, and only in private. Us americans (i think most north americans, actually), we're more than likely ready to hug a stranger we just met if we vibe with them even a little bit. It was probably a bit of a culture shock for saurei. Its why she was confused and said "these americans get so close". She probably felt Numi and the gang were crazy up in her business when they were just being "normal"... Whatever normal is for these girls. It prolly doesn't help that Saurei is a friggin Vtuber - people not known for their social ability IRL. In any case, culture is fun! The Vtubing community is really cool because of how often people of totally different cultures get to interact on a regular basis. Always fun to watch those encounters. well, just like most cliché, there are exeptions, most of them ARE in their oversized personal bubble ( because of American culture ) but some, like for exemple Numi, are cuties "look more around them than they do at themselves"

My point was however, that one of the more common complaints Europeans have about Americans, besides being loud and oblivious to the outside world, is that they are stand offish and will back away from them if they get too close. Which is something I have heard everyone from Egyptians to Brazilians complain about.
