This looks amazing, it's a real trip. If I had seen this as a teen in the 80s it would have blown my mind. With todays technology, wouldn't it be cool to have a real free agency 3D game with these kind of non-photorealistic anime graphics and physics? To be really immersed in an 80s anime world, with all its quirks.

trying to guess the plot: the hero is an ex-member of that car gang, who decided to stop this life. He got married to the woman he loved, but the gang leader wanted him dead because he left them(maybe she was in love with him too)
@alexk8792 Жыл бұрын
Actually, the hero is an officer of the Special Car Police (SCP for short, also known as the Mobile Armored Task Force - MATF in the European Mega CD version of the game, or STOP - Special Task Operations Police in the North American Sega CD version, or SMP in the LaserActive version of the game, titled Road Prosecutor), a law enforcement agency to take on violent vehicular gang activity. In response to the SCP, the gangs all conglomerated into a crime syndicate called RRR (called the Black Crows or Black Birds Gang in Road Prosecutor, or SCUM - Secret Criminal Underground Movement in the North American Sega CD version), which is lead by that evil woman. Now, the officer had gotten married and was going on a honeymoon with his wife, but the RRR attacked them, and ran them off the road. He survived, but his wife didn't make it, so he went vigilante and pilots the red LX-5 car (chassis no. 000) to take revenge on RRR. In Road Prosecutor, the protagonist is named John O'Hara, and the evil woman who leads RRR is named Suzie. In the manual of the Sega CD version, the officer's wife is named Cindy. (And yes, I know it's an old comment I replied to)

You also have to remember at this point in time Laser Disc, and even the audio was still in analog stereo, or dual mono if the disc had dual tracks. it was not till the very late 80's and 90's when they started to code digital audio onto the disc themselves, and then not even all players could decode the better digital audio, so the audio on the SEGA CD is pure clean Digital redbook CD audio if I remember correctly which is why it sounds better overall.

(I know it's an old comment, but...) The story is that in 199X in America, vehicular gang violence was on the rise due to developments in motor technology, so the government started up the Special Car Police (SCP) to take on the criminals. However, in response, the gangs unified and formed the criminal syndicate RRR to take on the SCP. The player character is one of the SCP's top operatives, as he never lets his target escape. Seeing the threat he poses, they attempted to murder him on his honeymoon by running his car off the road, but he survived, with his wife having perished in the crash. The player character now seeks vengeance against RRR, driving the powerful monster machine known as the LX-5.
