1. I saw you and Katie after the ride, and had to stop myself geeking out like uber fan boy and running over to say hi 😂 Loving the work, keep it up both of you (have subscribed to you both for a while). 2. (Now I really am geeking out - sorry in advance). Base layers. Funnily enough I had the same thought when packing for this ride, so I looked it up. Sweat works by cooling your body down when it evaporates from your skin. So, in the summer, you don't want to wick the moisture away, as you won't get the temperature-reducing benefit from it evaporating whilst in contact with your skin. However in winter, you do want it away from your skin, as it won't evaporate so readily, and will sit on your skin, making you colder. So, when it's hot, 1 technical layer is all you want, and a base layer may just make you hotter #yourewelcome

I did an 80 miles sportive in 2019 around the new forest, amazing area to cycle in. One climb was called Witches revenge and I had to get off and walk as it was too steep and to far into the ride and I didn’t have it in my legs. Great cause.

The Sandy Balls holiday park is named after the locally excavated sand deposits, that are found in ball shapes in the ground. As a local and fellow participant of the ride I can confirm that it was ‘quite’ warm on the way out! Yes those donkeys were in Woodgreen by the bus shelter, where as a kid my mates and I learnt to track stand trying to knock each other off the kerbs, for HOURS ever night - small village in the 80’s we had to make our own entertainment!
