Road King Crankshaft Position Sensor

Is my crankshaft position sensor causing my issues?

Can't hurt to change it. I've heard sometimes no code is captured with mild errors. Let us know how it turns out.

I have a 2000 carbureted Springer. On shutdown, it makes a loud clank. I initially thought it was the Compensator. I replaced it, but it still does it every now and then. The bike starts and runs fine, and I only get the loud clank on shut down. I am now beginning to suspect the crank rotation sensor. Could I be right, or not?

My first thought was compensator too. Does it do the same noise if you are in neutral? If it does, could be the clutch bearing. If not, the sensor is possible and cheap enough to try.

Maybe it fixed it . Try unplugging it when running. Andtry starting it with unplug see if get the same sound hears before

I should have done that before the swap. Im also wondering if my compensator could be just starting to go bad and the starting/ dying issues arent actually linked. Need to do more research but thought the 07's fell into the period of bad ones from HD.
