Season 6 of Road less Traveled is HERE! Since 2011, the adventure travel series has featured over 35 countries, across 6 seasons and more than a decade of off the beaten path adventure. In this episode, Jonathan heads to Thailand for new adventurous stories.
Jonathan is back in Thailand to discover new facets and stories of the land of smiles. He picks up a suppressed World War II story of Thailand’s declaration of war against the Allied forces; From secretive underground bunkers, repurposed air traffic control towers, to tucked away Japanese war memorials, and American war planes( stashed in a hidden corner of Chiang Mai International airport), Jonathan discovers wondrous Thai locales!
As his motorcycle journey through the country progresses, he encounters a wild monkey problem in the town of Lopburi. Jonathan finally ventures close to the Myanmar border, riding the fabled Mae Hong Son loop in pursuit of meeting the Karen people in their village. Here he is embraced by the locals and on a similar theme, he comes across an ex-warden who rehabilitates women ex prisoners and trains them in the ancient art of Thai massage. An epic moto adventure filled with hidden WWII stories and adventurous discoveries emblematic of Thai hospitality and the classic RLT theme of exploration.
