My Mom had a 1987 Grand Am SE in that same color. It had a V6 & automatic as well as a sunroof and a Delco Bose stereo system. It was a nice car for it's time.

I preferred the look of the updated model that came later in the generation, but had family members that had these in the late 80’s/early 90’s

had the 87 Calais coupe, with the v6 power window/locks/antenna, cassette player, and auto..for a grand total of $11452.00 better than most of the small crap they make now...and way more affordable..

The front end is exciting, and the dash is interesting. Not for the boring, the nitpicky, or those who would otherwise clearly find themselves happier in the automotive sarcophagus of a touch screen corolla.

An all-new sporty car designed without any tachometer; no option available. Typical of GM back then. NEXT was the 1990 Chevy SS454 Pickup. An "SS" model designed without a tachometer; none optional. Yes Siree!

dashes on these guys were pretty crappily designed, yep. Would've been a much smarter move to reuse the clusters from the Sunbird. They were at least large and legible.

unlike all the electronic shit today, you have to have a degree in computers just to turn on the air, all the stupid touch screens...luckily my 87 Calais had the gauges, including the tach
