Maybe Vira is mentioned because it's the island where we see Sabo's picture hanging. Multiple revolutions does scream the revolutionary army of Dragon. It's also possible that the Lode ponyglyph is on Elbaf (next arc), Last of the original Yonko, guarded by another race like the others. Then Vira could be a hint to the next part as it was mentioned when the Strawhats went looking for Skypia so they needed the knock up stream. The only plausible location for a knock up stream is reverse mountain. And then fullalead wil be a hint towards Blackbeard since he failed capturing Luffy do to the knock up stream in the skypia arc. So basically we get Blackbeard vs Straw Hats inside reverse mountain on Laugh Tale.

@@darthjarjarbinks2480 No that does not make any sense. The missing Lode ponyglyph is the one that used to be on Fishman Island. Since Big Mom only had 1 we can assume Whitebeard took it or Marco after Whitebeard died. Lodestar seems like a terrible hiding place since it's the place where you learn about the Lode ponyglyphs. I think it's more likely that Marco handed it to Shanks after the payback war or that's it still in the place Whitebeard hid it. In that case it could be inside a whale. The title where we first learn about them is "Inside the Whale" and Whitebeard's figurehead on his ships was a whale.

In Japanese, there's 2 writing systems, kana and kanji. The word "Poneglyph" in Japanese is written in 2 ways. 1 is in kana ポーネグリフ (pōnegurifu) and the other is in kanji 歴史の本文 (rekishi no honbun) which means "The Text of History". The same goes for Rio Poneglyph. The kana reading リオ・ポーネグリフ (rio pōnegurifu) and the kanji reading 真の歴史の本文 (shin no rekishi no honbun) which means "The True/Real Text of History". It's a misconception people have because of not knowing the language. Fun fact: The Rio in Rio Poneglyph is the Spanish and Portuguese word for River. Also look up River (Typography) on Wikipedia. Possibly the inspiration for why Oda chose that name.

It make sense that the final port city near Laugh Tale was peaceful back when Shanks and Buggy stayed behind there, because the world wasn't all chasing down a Great Treasure yet, guiding pirates and probably the WG straight to them. But that last stop before LT has likely become an increasingly dangerous place from the moment the Nika fruit found Luffy and started gaining strength. Because Fate was making moves to prepare for the natural 800-year rebirth of the Sun God. The Tenryuubito may have already stationed CP0 there. So if that IS Vira, it would also make sense why it's been getting name dropped subtly since 1999. Oda has always known the names of his End Game islands, and he told them to us early in. We just all missed Vira because Elbaf was so shiny.

Does Kidd know about the Load Poneglyphs? Luffy and Law had the Minks explain it all to them (also Robin and Law seem to be interested in reading all of them anyway), Teach is a history buff that sailed with Whitebeard and Shanks sailed on Rogers ship. What reasons would Kidd have for pursuing the Poneglyphs if he doesn't know about their significance in finding Laugh Tale? I assumed that the thing that Kidd stole from Big Mom was a Poneglyph rubbing, but where would he have found out about them, and how is he planning to read them? Additionally, if Kidd doesn't know about the Poneglyphs, will Luffy or someone else accidentally let Kidd know about them, and let him know that they have a rubbing already and are currently looking for Kaido's?

Both mentions of Vira in the manga were by Nami. Nami and Nojiko were rescued by Bellemere from a country in a civil war. Sanji and Zoro have had thier backstories elaborated through the last two arcs. Usopp will have Elbaf. Vira is where we will learn more about Nami.

I would guess that Blackbeard has or knows where the final Road (/Lode) Ponegliff is. He could have used his position in White Beard's crew to discover or just learn that the Ponegliff used to be in their territory of FMI, and so either find a way to move it or work out where it ended up, very likely Hachinosu.

I feel like the island of Vira is French since the Wikipedia Disambiguation page of Vira says at least 2 French departments share the name Vira. As well we could use the Wiktionary page for this, the English one doesn't seem to help, Vira in English is the plural of Virus, then there is veria, which means a railing around an altar or a tomb, it could be said that the Road Poneglyphs lead to the Tomb/Altar of Joyboy. In Catalan, Vira is referred to as a welt, strengthening a seam, this might help but I doubt it, maybe as to tie together all the Puzzle pieces. In French, it is the past historic of Virer, which means to Veer. In Galician as well as Calatan it refers to a Welt. In Latin, it means A woman, which doesn't seem to help our search for this. Vira in Serbo-Croatian means whirlpool, the island of vira could hold massive whirlpools. The Spanish part seems to completely revise what I thought veria was it seems to also indicate Dart or a Javelin. In Swedish, it means to roll. TL;DR - Vira could mean Tomb or Altar, A Welt, or to Veer, I think the Vira might veer the crew to where the One Piece actually is hidden

One thing we kind of overlooked is that, what kind of sickness that has taken down the literal king of pirate ? We have seen this quite a bit but if it's consider to Roger, he's obviously really strong and can't really catch a cold or whatever. That note about dragons at the end--I'm not alone in noticing a lot of Buddhist symbolism in One Piece, and because I'm Buddhist I always take note to consider all of Oda's symbolism from a Buddhist perspective. The most notable point that I can't help but bring up here is from the Dragon Gate--a legendary waterfall which carp would swim up against terribly difficult odds and, if they reach the top, transform into dragons which symbolizes attaining enlightenment. You might also recognize this as the inspiration for magikarp evolving into gyrados. The Dragon Gate is alluded to at multiple points in One Piece: when the Straw hats enter the grand line, when they sail up to Skypiea, and when they enter Wano. At each of these points, they vertically sail upright, overcome incredible odds, and accomplish a goal that was previously regarded as impossible. At each point, they get closer to the "truth" or enlightenment. Reverse Mountain has gates with imagery of dragons on it, and after overcoming this first great obstacle, they accomplish their first tangible goal towards finding the One Piece, getting to the Grand Line. But, rather than finding enlightenment at the top, they find Laboon. At the top of Knock Up Stream, they meet a psudeo "god"--Enel--and gain the first clues about Luffy's coming awakening. They also meet those enormous snakes, whose appearance is similar to a dragon. At Wano, they literally swim upwards along with the legendary carp, and at the top they meet Kaido, a dragon, and Momo transforms into both a man and a dragon. Most important, however is Luffy's awakening, as he is revealed to be a god. Not just any god, but Nika (which means grin, or smile), a god of joy and ultimate freedom. The things that Luffy represents are the qualities of enlightenment. Luffy's devil fruit transforms from rubber--relatively useless, if not creatively utilized--to a literal god. This transformation is not unlike the lowly carp transforming into a great dragon. Tldr: Dragons in one piece symbolize enlightenment, and each victory over adversity is a part of the straw hat crew's transformation into enlightened beings acting as Bodhisattvas who liberate the world of misery. I can go on, but I already wrote an essay at this point and youtube comment sections are not the place for that.

I think i understand Oda's explanation. I think it is a hint that shit is going to go down in Vira. By saying THE QUESTION IS, WHAT IS HAPPENING IB THE WORLD. Meaning, when things in the world become chaotic, that's when the citizens of Vira decide to start acting up. About the time the last Road/Lode Poneglyph being moved, we already have a rough idea when it happened. I tend to think it happened at some time between Otohime's death and Marineford, MAAAYBE a year after Marineford too and the perpetrator is 100% Shanks. He took it to an island in his territory. I think Vira is the country where Kuma came from. Maybe the coup d'etat happening is because of Kuma's tyranny back then. Also in the last chapter we see Sabo's picture hanging I think it's also in Vira because Sabo was trying to rescue Kuma so it's connected. Therefore you would need the exact point on the map where it should be to actually start looking for clues / unravel the island once you reach there. If you are randomly searching for it you will never find it.
