Road to Restoration Phase 1- Volkswagen Golf Mk3 1995- Throttle Body Gasket Blown

In this video I show the process of removing the throttle body in a 1995 1.8L Volkswagen Golf Mk3.
The gasket that holds the throttle body to the intake was blown right apart. Consequently the engine was backfiring right out of the throttle body

Why intake manifold cools with antifreeze?? I have 1.6 model 101hp with injection system and intake doesnt have coolant hoses

Weird, maybe yours has a carborator? I know mine has it to keep the flap on the throttle body from freezing shut

@@ZombieZoo2002 No. mine is more advanced..it has 4 injectors one per cylinder. Just the throttle body does not have water pipes.. just air intake hose

Maybe because that golf from.the video is in a country that has snow...mine doesnt need anti freezer too because i'm in Brazil 😂

@@ZombieZoo2002 How that anti freeze works? do you put the anti freeze right on the fuel tank?

@@robertoshigeeda1944 yeah I live in Canada so in the winter it gets well below 0, so it would freeze easily. There’s a separate tank located in the engine bay that’s designated specifically for that anti-freeze
