This engine is the 2jz of the brazilian car culture. The engine block can take 8x the stock power with no serious modifications. It's reliable, powerful and ease to service. A great little engine. In brazil it is known as the "AP" engine, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0.

The first few engine rebuilds are fun , after you hit the 100 mark then it gets really shitty . Its allot of work and it takes focus and concentration coz basically you get only 1 chance. So the more expensive the notor the more stresfull it gets , I stil cant get used to or over that panic attack when you start up an engine first time after a rebuild . 10 seconds feels like an hour. then the oil pressure is suddenly there in full, everything stops making ticks and tats and it settles to a calm idle , you look nervously for oil or coolant leaks and once the thermo opened and the fan kicked in a few cycles then its warmed up and nothing brings more sudden relief than that moment you can smile and say "Sounds good" mega rewarding .
@hermanbotha14493 ай бұрын
3 things dude. 1. dont lock the cam pulley the way you did aluminum is soft. 2. Where is the splash plate under the cam cover , definitely gonna leak. 3. never use silicone of any kind anywhere near where theres petrol ... hope you primed the oil pump before you started it.
