Күн бұрын

This episode of “Road to the Games” offers a look at a day in the life of three of the world’s fittest women: Kari Pearce, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet and Jamie Greene.
Pearce was the fittest American at last year’s Games, finishing just two spots off the podium.
Leblanc-Bazinet, on the other hand, fell off last year and had her worst Games finish, but the numbers she’s putting up this year suggest she’s poised for one hell of a comeback.
Greene has been in the spotlight since she won the Open last year and then decided to go team with CrossFit Yas, and everyone is excited to see what she can do this year in the individual competition.
Over 19 minutes of footage provide insight into the athletes’ training, eating and mentalities-as well as their quirks and eccentricities.
See the entertaining dynamic between Leblanc-Bazinet and her husband, Dave Lipson. Find out what Pearce-or the “lioness with a lion heart,” as her weightlifting coach calls her-likes to sing in the car. And don’t miss Greene’s funny breakfast and shaving habits.

Americanbullytrainer I agree. She's very sarcastic and people take what she's saying serious. For them to all compete against each other but still be able to all be in the same room together and get along and joke around is great!

Great video! Thanks for highlighting some lesser known athletes. I fear too much of our sport is focused on popularity, looks.. superficial who's in the "in" crowd and we all end up losing out from that. There are so many tremendous athletes whose stories we all want to hear. Thanks for the content.

I agree. I do have to say, though, that this video had far more tolerable music. Perhaps it shows my age, but in so many other videos i just can't stand the heavy beat filled EDM/electronic (i don't even know what it is called) music that is used. Thanks, Crossfit, for using more "accessible" music in this one!

I think that Jamie Greene chick is gonna surprise a lot of people and do super good this year, I can't wait to see that. I also think Camille and Kari are gonna crush it at the games too. Something about these videos, Im guessing the editing and music choices, get me so hyped for the Regionals and Games approaching, which Im sure is the intention. That ending montage of them all going through workouts mixed with the heavy music was just...wow. Disregard all the tech issues the CrossFit media people have issues with, these videos and little movies are legit as f*ck. (rant over)

I thought her attitude shown in this video was great. She's seen the harsh, emotionless, financial side of professional sports now and is therefor far more wise than many around her. She doesn't want to lose more of her soul to be a walking advertisement; a breathing stock car (figuratively) emblazoned with logos. Perhaps her attitude of having fun and seeing how good she can be will take her back to the top.
@Hoehihoh
@Hoehihoh 7 жыл бұрын
Mmh, I actually thought that too. Those elements of her mentality are pretty good in my opinion, and there's no issue with her mindset in that regard. Where I see her issues is in her ability to see herself from an outside perspective, identify her own flaws and work on them unhindered by her pride. Compare Katrin, who I think has a great mindset and is a very mature athlete, to Camille. When Katrin does poorly, she doesn't even think about what circumstances could have led to that. All she thinks about is what she can do better. Camille, on the other hand, is quick to get frustrated, blame others, and ignore the possibilities for growth. Which I think is fairly normal, and what Katrin, Mat or Ben are doing is really really hard, but that just means Camille isn't on their mental level anymore. She fails to realise her own potential because she's more worried about her self-image than her achievements. Whether that's good or bad is a matter of perspective, I don't like it myself because I think I can be proud of myself if I give my best, so that's where I want to put my focus.

I thought this was a comment section where we are allowed/encouraged to express our opinions. I agree with you, I am not in her shoes. I do not know what she is truly going through, but as an outsider I can see her negative demeanor. I am not bashing Camille in a bad way. I am saying in a lot of recent videos with her, her attitude is awkward and not in the spirit of a winner. I wish her all the best and would like nothing more than a good comeback story.

Are you suggesting lifters at the Olympics are not on anabolic steroids?
@mikegtk1
@mikegtk1 7 жыл бұрын
LXAsx457 Just look at the shoulder development. Highly likely that they take testosterone, the men too. You have more androgen receptors in the shoulders, back and traps, which activate by binding with with testosterone or other androgenic hormones. It's near impossible to get that kind of upper body development in females without testosterone, or some kind of PED. Most athletes competing at the top level are on PED's. Testosterone is considered a PED, but if you keep the levels within a reasonable range then you can't get busted for it. Plus it works wonders for recovery.. Ask any exercise physiologist and they'll tell you the same thing.
