Old vs New, Duos that are relatively there for each other through thick and thin, going on wacky adventures throughout Space and time. Stewie and Rick are risk takers willing to go on the wacky adventures while Brian and Morty are reluctant to fight at first but become more active and capable. Despite Stewie and Ricks genius and cold acts, they just want a friend, and their relationship with their companions grow throughout their series. Both are (or were in Family Guys case) major shows on Adult Swim. Finally, Rick & Stewie sacrifice themselves for their companions to return to the present time (Outside of time Morty's collar was broken and he dropped it, In the past Stewie's time machine only had enough juice for one person to return, and he wanted to stay and fix things to make sure Brian has a future/present to return to)
