Just re-watched the first fight with Poirier, the Ferguson fight, and the Fiziev fight and it's crazy how much evolution you see in that time frame. Justin, you're awesome and you have a solid team. Trust in your skills and protect yourself and you've got this. When you fought Ferguson I got chills. A patient Justin is a deadly Justin. edit: after seeing some comments on my comment I just wanna make one thing clear: I'm not saying Poirier is a pushover or a joke like some of you are saying. I'm simply saying when I look at both fighters, Gaethje seems to have made more positive changes AND if he protected himself better in the fight against Poirier the first time he was gonna win with no doubt about it. He does protect himself a hell of a lot better now and has even developed a nice jab that I think will work well against Poirier when mixed in with leg kicks. I think Gaethje just has more tools, especially when you throw in his wrestling pedigree. If he uses his arsenal and protects himself I really do see him as the favorite to win it. I follow both of these guys pretty closely, so it isn't bias. It just is what it is.

justin was so impressive IQ wise in the fiziev fight and i saw real genius in trevor whitmans coaching to make adjustments to the end of 2nd and the 3rd round, really was surprised because i was one of the few who thought fiziev was going to win

Rooting for you man! I was thoroughly impressed with how you dealt with Fiziev's switch kicks. The biggest counter potential I see is Poirier's shifting cross and how he usually just backs straight up when disengaging.

Going through different scenarios that could potentially be in Dustin’s plans for this fight… I could see Dustin trying to come out and ware on Justin’s gas tank right out the gate. Trying to wrestle right away or even clinching on the fence and try eliminating as many calf kicks! Love this journey and really appreciate you doing this for us! God Bless brother!

Dustin was a centimeter from quitting during their 1st fight due to Justin's nasty calf kicks, you can see Dustin was literally a second from calling it the night but then he landed a bomb. The point is Justin was the better fighter and is the better fighter, and will get his hand raised to set the record straight.

Justin is f*cking MADE for fighting. He’s the best scrapper in the UFC, absolutely SURGICAL striking… I do not see Dustin’s volley of crazy crosses working on Gaethje. Dustin is death by 50% power blows, he throws and throws and he always connects eventually. JUSTIN is not this, he’s absolute precision. The evolution of the past 4 years in Justin is absolutely insane and a huge pleasure to watch. I think this style demolishes Dustin, the damage dealt with Justin’s 70-80% power shots are devastating.
