Awesome footage mate. Just a small request if I may. Are you able to point that forward camera up a little further down the road as we're only really seeing the end of the bonnet. Be great to see the eye line of the road. Cheers. Great explanation of the gearing on climbs and descents.

G'Day Jonno. It was interesting watching you going through the gears up and down the big hill, and using the engine brake. I would love to offer you a drive in my rwd Tesla, which has only one gear, 220kW (300hp). Maximum torque (420Nm / 310 foot pounds) from zero revs. This is the BASE model. The AWD and the Performance models are much more powerful. However, it is going DOWNHILL where it comes into its own... Just lift off the accelerator pedal, and the motor turns into a generator / engine brake which slows you down dramatically. (It also has friction brakes for when you really need to stop in a hurry). The feeling is very much like turning your J brake to max. If we ever meet, I'll give you a drive. Regards, Greg.

Good day Johnno, It is amazing your popularity is growing over 100 comments congratulations well done. Love to see you go down the Adelaide Hills in a double road train configuration. Not sure if they allow double road trains down the Adelaide Hills. I noticed no fog lines on the highways in W.A not good, either that or it doesn't get foggy out there. Which route do you take from Deni to Port Augusta it is beautiful country the Mid North of S.A. Those Kenworth Horton Fans kick in at the first moment of uphill running & so so loud, no European Prime Mover there. How did you go with the A/C, maybe time for a Ice Pack yourself. Great video thoroughly enjoyed it. Safe driving Cheers Louis ☺☝

Good video. All of the how-to vids getting around today are very interesting. When going down a full gear on a steep climb do you firstly drop the button to the low position, then work your way down, or leave the button in the up position and work your way down? Or, is it a case of wherever the button is, leave it there and go down full gears? I know there would be no hard-and-fast rule about this as each driver would work from their own experience, but which is the best way you have found to do this?

G'day mate, I really enjoy your videos and I love travelling through the outback. I have a genuine question for you... I tow a smallish offroad caravan (2.3t fully loaded) with my 34 year old 60 series Landcruiser with a 100hp extremely slow but torquey turbo diesel engine. If you see me (or any other caravan) on the road, I may not be driving as fast as you. In order to make things as easy as possible for you to pass me, what do I need to do? Slow down? Indicate? Get on the radio?
@RoadTrainAdventures

Yes using the radio is best. Call us up by saying, 'copy in the truck behind the, and name your caravan make'. Them you can organise when to have us come around.
