Great video and it brought back memories for me of my younger years. In the late 1970s/80s me and a mate left our hometown of Liverpool, England to go travelling and after some time and adventures use found ourselves in Newman WA. The drone shots of Leonora reminded my of the red dust that was every where. When they built Newman the construction teams lived in the Con (Construction) camp which became overflow accommodation later when the single men's quarters were full. The con camp looked a lot like the Mining camp. I'm back home in Liverpool now so thanks for bringing back the memories.

Payne's Find is a great place to see W.A.'s brilliant wildflowers in the right season. It's a wonder you haven't seen them. Yes, gates do cause a lot of wind drag, that's why some employers in the distant past demanded that you tarp an empty trailer if you left the gates up (also to look like they had freight when they didn't).

I’ve done the Nullarbor four times and know it well also along with a lot of other roadhouses. But I really want to thank you for the walk around of Paynes Find which I didn’t get to. 👍. The gates won’t add any noticeable wind resistance and the plastic on the front are bug deflectors. Cheers.
