Road Trip - I-40 from Hickory to Asheville NC

Thank you for posting this drive. I am a very anxious driver and had concerns that I-40 would be a twisting & turning drive through steep mountains, I see that it is not. No mountain tunnels or underpasses. I am relieved!

Same here, plus I'm in my 70's!!! I'm going all the way to Montana and didn't like the other route I was considering because of a very, very long tunnel (gives me claustrophobia). I had imagined the twisting & turning drive thru steep mountains also, SO relieved to see it is a very nice road!!! :)

Interstate 40 should be upgraded near certain interchanges in North Carolina
