Road Trip In Thailand Maybe Not Such A Good Idea

In this video, Gift and I head out on the road traveling north to Isan. We will be traveling in the middle of SongKran (the Thai New Year). Many people advised us not to travel during SongKran as the roads can be extremely dangerous during this time of the year and traffic can be horrendous.  We will be on the road the first two nights heading to Thap Phanom, where we will visit with Chuck & Paige. Nice start to a road trip. I usually don't travel in Thailand during Songkran unless it's to the airport. That's cool that the expressway was free. Gotta love it! Was wondering what type of vehicle you were driving. Looks like it is nice and fairly new. Gift is funny, "stop in BKK to shop for one hour" 555! Looks like Gift also ordered tatmun (fish cakes/patties) for lunch. One of my favorites!

I have enjoyed your program for some time and plan to continue. So I have a safety comment, truckers typically do not carry a chain in the cab, in a bad wreck it will beat the vehicle occupants very badly. my gf and I road-tripped apr 7-16 south from nakhon nayok to surat to phangnan to ranong and back, stopping at koh tao, and khao lak for 3 days each. we didnt hit any traffic til saturday. northbound toward bkk & nn was pretty busy. other than that it was smooth sailing all the way.

Went Khao Yai Wednesday and Thursday. Tons of butterflies all over park. Only saw 2 deer on way out. The Haew Su Wat Waterfall is worth the drive. There were no swimming signs posted when we visited. Thong Somboon Club is good if you have children.

Great video, I went to Thailand in February of 2023 . Visited Bangkok and Phuket . I am returning this coming February and plan to drive from Bangkok to Phuket. I use Wise to transfer money from my US bank to my Thai bank account monthly. My suggestion would be for you to hire an agent for your first years visa. You can then transfer the required 65,000 baht a month as proof of income for the following years extension of stay or you can put 800,000 baht into your Thai bank account. Best to check out the Thai Immigration official website for up to date and accurate information.
