Apart from Kao Soi, you may consider trying other Northern Thai foods, such as Sai Oa - Northern sausage, Kan Took - a set of meals, Hung Lay soup, and Larb. ........ I had visited Northern Ireland when I graduated from Edinburgh University about 20 years ago. ....

Ah thank you so much for the recommendations. I haven't tried Sai Oa yet, but my boyfriend has and he enjoyed it! I will have to give it a try 😊 That's amazing that you visited Northern Ireland. Also Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities! Thank you for watching 🤩

What a lovely couple! We enjoyed watching and listening you on your video to Pai. One thing I would suggest, if you'll excuse me, next time if you're taking a scooter ride from Chiang Mai to Pai, leaving CM late in the day would also be unwise and quite uncomfortable, not to mention a wee bit more dangerous. It gets very cold in the many shady sections along the way by late afternoon and after the sun goes down, it gets bloody cold. More importantly the road can get slick as night falls and that, combined with the many steep down slopes and endless twisty bends and reduced visibility... well look out, it's very easy for the bike to lose traction and you can down on the road. Scary and potentially deadly. Thank you for making your video and sharing. Very enjoyable to see your happiness and share in your adorable excitement. Carry on!l

Wow that is such a nice comment! Thank you so much for watching Jamie & taking the time to write a comment 😊 That is all really helpful information as I had no clue it would be like that driving to Pai later in the day! Hopefully, some people that are considering driving to Pai will see your comment. We are already planning on going back to Pai again, so I will take that into consideration myself. Thanks for sharing & thanks so much again for watching 😊

Pai is in Mae Hong Sorn, further than Chiang Mai. One good experience is to stay with hill tribe people there.

Thank you so much Jirarat for letting me know. We thought since it was cold, that maybe it wasn't cooked. But if it is always boiled before hand, then I guess it's ok 😊

For that journey I normally allow about 3 1/2 hours in the car - with my wife telling me I'm going too fast. And that's with just a 30 minute stop for refreshments. It would certainly be a lot longer on a small bike. It's a fantastic trip, though. One tip is to take a side turn onto Rural Road 3009 just after the Rim Nuea Municipality Office (left at the traffic lights, 18:56N, 98:56.5E) rather than go all the way to the 1095 junction - it takes you along lovely rural roads and misses out a big chunk of the Route 107 dual carriageway. You come out just by the next (and last) big junction after where you stopped & the locals checked if you were lost. We wouldn't eat at the 'pit stop' where you had the khao soi - there are a few small roadside foodshops either side of this place which are much better (particularly in the last little gathering of shops you would have passed before reaching there). This place is used by the vans and minibuses as a 'comfort break' as it's about halfway on the journey. I really hope you enjoyed your stay in my second home town (my wife is a teacher there). Subscribe added . . . PS - I'm originallyt from Norn Iron, so it was nice to hear tyour accent 👍

Thanks for your comment 😊 Yes it's an incredible trip to Pai, I already cannot wait to do it again! I have made note of where you mentioned to turn which misses a big chunk of the dual carriageway. That sounds like a great alternative, driving along that part of the dual carriageway gets boring very quickly and I never like it on the moped! Thanks so much for the advice on stopping for food also, we will definitely try the area that you mentioned next time. Have a great day!

Nice video. I'll be riding the Mae Hong Son loop for the 3rd time in January 2023. Never gets old. I know it’s hot and uncomfortable wearing proper gear, but just wearing t-shirts, shorts, and running shoes is gonna ruin your body if you have a spill. Coming off at 60kph (or lower) will rip all your skin off. Gloves, jacket, riding pants, and proper riding shoes, please. Dress for the slide, not the ride. Stay safe!

Thanks so much for watching! That is a really good point about wearing the proper clothes and we didn't even think of that. We are planning a trip to Pai again next year, so we will take that into consideration then! We will be more prepared next time 😅

Hey thanks for video 😊, i have a question is Thai police give you a fine for non thai licence? I heart that they are giving you fine if you even have International Licence?
@shouldibotherpod Жыл бұрын
Hiii, thank you for watching!! 🤩 We only got stopped and checked for an international driving license once in a busy tourist area in Phuket and the fine is around 1,000 baht. But when we drove to Pai we only saw one checkpoint and didn't get stopped!
