9:35 Did u mean Tony? He is a great singer who unfortunately left the group a couple of years ago. Although, he does have a YT channel together with Layne. When Tony left a whole year went by without a baritone. But then we got J:none who is of course great as well.

Tony Wakim (half owner of PattyCake Studios with Layne) was an original member and was the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. You'll see him in most of the older ones.

Hey QoFy, hey gang 👋! I’m so happy you watched this, I love going back to this one. It’s an oldie but a goodie! And you’re right, this is from The Sing Off Tour, not the live TV shows. And the guy tryouts didn’t recognise is their old member who J None replaced, his name is Tony Wakim. He left to start his theatre production company he co-owns with Layne. You can see at the end of this how much Tony enjoyed doing this production. Another VoicePlay video that has Tony is their Phantom Of The Opera ft Rachel Potter, it’s one of my favourites of theirs, I highly recommend it. If you want more Sing Off Tour stuff, there is a really cool beatbox off “The Ultimate Beat Off” with Layne Stein, Niko Del Rey from The Filharmonic, and Home Free’s very own Adam Rupp! It’s another really creative skit from this tour

Yes, this was from the first Sing-Off tour in 2014 right after they had competed on the show (hence the backdrop). This tour was Home Free, VoicePlay (with Emoni) and The Filharmonic, with an occasional guest group local to whatever area they were performing that night. The tour format had the three groups perform opening & closing numbers all together, and some group vs. group battles (like the TV show). Each group also got a 20 minute block to do their own thing. If you're interested, VoicePlay has a behind-the-scenes video on their page about the tour. It's called "Unlocked - VoicePlay" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmatpJtnra2paNk). Don't need a reaction (it's not that kind of video), but just if you're interested. 🙂

This definitely shows why they're the best with characters and voice acting in the a capella community. It reminds me of an improvisation class I took many years ago where we did a car skit like that, and it was the most fun, comedic activity. Hugs and love to QoFy and the QoFy gang! 🤗✌💜

It wasn't the sing-off per se, it was the tour after it. The 5th guy is Tony Wakim. He was a regular member between 2011 & 2016. It took them a while to fill the spot with J None. This was one of their signature skits, same as the Chicken Song. Did you watch The Chicken Song? You should! I'm surprised you didn't catch a couple of things, like when Geoff is going beep-beep-beep after they get back in the car = it's the annoying alarm most cars sound when you don't have the seatbelt on. Maybe you don't have them in the UK? But yes, it was very creative, typical VoicePlay, and you had fun! Great review!!
