Just did a 1300mi road trip in my 2023 hybrid platinum and got 19.2mpg but through the smoky mountains. No seat issues on mine. The air seats are a little loud and the rear window trim is a little short, other than that no issues and it drove great. Only thing I'm thinking about doing is a sway bar, there's a lot less body roll on this than the previous gen but there's still a noticable amount on the curves

Just did Tampa to Key West, somewhat loaded with music gear, but avg 17.5 mpg 75 to 80 mph. I have the Michelin LTX M/S and although weak looking they ride incredible. Im debating on tryong the Faulken AT3's 275x70x18 but worry on the mpg hit. 2021 TRD PRO Tundra.

Just took a trip with my family from SA to Dallas. Truck fully loaded! 5 passangers plus all luggage in bed plus big 70qt ice chest full. I have K02's just slightly bigger than OEM (275/60/20), regular IForce and we got 18.4 MPG. 75-80 MPH. Not too bad but not great. I'm currently having all the trim issues we keep hearing about. Hoping to get it resolved soon 🤞

Noted to dealer on seats and no fix yet they said. Only fix is to replace the back lumbar and same problem would occur when reported a replace. They did document. I had the leg support not work one time but has always worked since then. I normally close it then click forward once. It stuck when fully closed. Depending on seat position the lumbar is a lot better and most days don’t notice

I have a 2017 tundra 5.7 and we went from Florida to San Antonio. About a 800 something mile drive one way. Got 13.4 mpg with 6 inch lift, 35 tires, and left the truck running the whole time even when filling up gas. I do however have a cold air intake, kooks long tube headers, 3 inch flow master, and some other performance mods that probably help mpg. If I had stock 32s and no lift would probably get 16/17 mpg with this set up.

I appreciate all the videos you have done on the new Tundra. They help me continue to know I made the best choice going with a 2021 Tundra. Also, it isn't the fuel filter you are saving by not using all of your gas but the fuel pump which is thousands of dollars to purchase and replace at a dealership. Concerning the bad mpg with the bigger tires this is where that 3.31 rear end sucks a big one. Ford F-150's have the same problem because they use the same axle ratio. This is where the older Tundra with the 4.30 axle ratio is nice, because my 34 inch Nitto's only impact my fuel economy by about 0.5 mpg. Look forward to your next video!
@TRDJon
@TRDJon Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Gotta keep in mind too this is a 10 speed trans as well so that is why the gear ratio is a bit off too. If it was running higher RPM with the turbos always going, it would get even worse MPG. Typical Toyota truck though with bad MPG.

I'm reading some of the comments here and I think we all get stuck on MPG when, in reality, we should focus more on fuel range. Some truck manufacturers have 21 gallon fuel tanks as standard, some have 23 gallons, and some have the options up to 33-36 gallon tanks. MPG numbers are all going to be different depending on fuel capacities along with other factors. But checking fuel range or resetting the trip indicator after each fuel pump is the way to go to know how much your truck can go on a full tank until the next fill-up.

I had a leveling kit installed (front only needed) on my TRD Sport and put grappler 34's on it. Basically left the suspension systems stock and added awesome looking tires and got up a couple inches higher. Truck looks awesome but rides almost like stock. Did several longer distance mpg tests. Lost about 1-2 mpg. At 75 mph it's showing about 19 mpg.

I have a '23 1794 hybrid, TRD OR 5.5 SB w/ saddle brown leather seats - I find my best mileage is keeping it under 75 with ACC on. and 2 lines between me, and other vehicles on 2 lane roads, and 1 line on the interstates. I installed an AFE Momentum GT intake on my 4Runner about a month ago. Highway mileage is way better, city driving got worse. It’s not like the S&B where the engine sound changes… HOWEVER, when we gun it HARD, there is an angry banshee sound from the engine. I laughed and said “there it is!” The Flowmaster exhaust got louder too but it does not bother us. Another thing I noticed was that it does not hang on to 2nd gear as long when going to highway speeds and doesn’t hunt for gears uphill, it stays at 2000 RPM and keeps 65 mph on a hill.

Going to be putting Defenders on my 2022 1794. The stock tires are just passanger tires and are great for just driving but the sidewalls are to weak when towing a camper. Need the e-series stiffness. I have a 23 platinum hybrid. And my biggest complaint is the interior space. It's hideous. There is nowhere to put anything. The hard plastic scratches really easy. I am a contractor I can't even put my bidding book in the center console. This is not a road trip truck. I'm 5'11 I barely fit in the truck. No storage anywhere. Almost impossible to eat lunch in the truck. The engine sounds like a Scandia go-kart. The truck feels like it's going to die every time I stop at a stop sign. But the worst part is the mpgs fraud. I really hope someone files a class action lawsuit against the lies they claimed. I bought the truck based on the mpg rating completely unacceptable. This is my 10th Toyota and by far the worst. I've loved all my other Toyotas. The lack of a home button on the infotainment Center is just completely unbelievable...and the suspension and Driving Experience is harsh. It struggles to go up hill. Not the platinum grill is chiping off. The windows.are really load. The dealer ship refuses to fix the broken phone charger and windows.
