How about a video explaining how to replace the bearing races Ryan? You explain things very well and although I may have done some of the fixes you have uploaded on to YTube, its always interesting to see and hear a slightly different approach to completing a job. Thanks!

So my question is: can you reuse the sleeve? I was under the impression that they are a one time use only because they compress during the initial torque process and will not compress the same if used again. Is this true or false? I have to do front pads and rotors on my T680 and want to replace the bearings while i'm in there and it all has to come apart anyway.

How often should we change gear lube oil in a drive axle? 50k 100k miles ?

International replaced my steer bearing and didn't do the hub part the race I think . I asked why he said it was good. Is this why I have a 2014 international Prostar. I didn't think my bearing looked bad at all that he took out.

I understand all the proper procedures can be different; but I never see anyone putting gear oil back into the hub, unless you don't have to if the pumpkin is full. Any suggestions ?👍👍🚛

If you pull the hub off you are supposed to fill the hub back up by either pulling the plug on the hub or jacking up one side of the axle at a time so fluid will run to the the hub while the axle is tilted.

According to conmet the spacer should not be reused numerous times because after they get crushed with their preload setting they tend to lose their proper preload and when I had them on my old truck I talked to the engineers at conmet and they said just throw it in the garbage and refer to procedure 618

those preset wheel hubs i pretty much only see them on pacar trucks not my favorite i prefer without the sleeve
@hillbillybeerdranker66783 жыл бұрын
In your opinion, which one is better? I could be wrong, but the one with a sleeve looks better or safer to me, since you can torque it to 300.
@truckingandfixing3 жыл бұрын
The one with a sleeve is simpler and less chance for error in my opinion. Just torque it once you are done.
