@@safwansalehjee7961 Holy shit, this is old! I ordered this thing in 2007.. It was amazing for the time, but since that, I've owned a BMW 530D, 540Xi, and a now post-divorce I'm driving a new Porsche 911 (992).. but yeah, for it's time, the X5 was pretty darn nice... began to have reliability issues by around 60K miles.

Correction, The Gaurds are seperate from the bumper bar, they are not one complete frontal section. In the review you state the gaurds and bumper are one piece. ....NOT SO.

yeah, thanks my Cayenne Turbo S averages around 29 mpg but when Iam in traffic Iam lucky to get 3 or 4 mpg. Because the Turbo for some reason will kicked in at 15 mph and kill the mpg. and thank you for the feed back

the first batch of X5 are all bulit in Germany, but after all 3.0si version will built in US,but not the 4.8i version~

i see your point of view...yeah its insane for a SUV! for me i cant swallow the looks (for me it makes the cayenne look good!) and if i wanted performance, i prefer the sport cars... i love driving, cornering, breaking.. SUVs, better for something like little off road at a site and added space... and the brand factor does play a part too. stepping out of an x5 (with a smaller engine) will impress chicks more than stepping out of a powerful infinity. sounds lame, but just how it is.

actually the MDX was test by edmunds, i could be wrong but in the test it was said to HANDLE and CORNER BETTER than the x5.... that says ALOT. toyotas make REAL off roaders, like the land crusier, etc.

whoops, the ML is alright. ;) in fact its the only lineup in MB that look good with their idea on wheel arches. (S class doesnt need 'wide' body wheel arches lol) after the xc90 (my friend got this) first came out i thought it was good, (i owned the x5) but its been so many years now and the x5 still looks good.. the volvo... just lost all its character over the years (if it had any to begin with)

I like to rest my hand on my auto transmission gear selector... what happens if you're cruising down the highway at 65MPH and accidentally hit the P button on this vehicle's gear selector?

hmmmm i see.... the Q7 isent, hidious... cant say its handsome too... its sort of safe... some say X6 is a jacked up 6 series... Q7 is like a jacked up station wagon a6+supersized.... and it has traces of cayenne shouders (the thing that make cayennes froggy). same platform.... but in the end.... its ALL in the eye of the beholder. if u can buy any of them, its auto respecTA. hehe

OKAY GUYS I GOT ONE. everything is good EXCEPT = STEERING feel is lacking (drive the 1st x5 and u will feel a MASSIVE difference) Engine is powerful but its HEAVY :(((((

I agree besides the Cayenne, q7, and ml. Glk is ugly mostlybecause it looks like a 2002 subaru forester. the xc90 is obese the x3 nothing special and the tourag, who the hell buys a VW for a luxury crossover, what do you think about all the asain Suvs, i like the acura mdx :)

The gear selector is stupid and useless. You pull back to go into drive and push foward to go into reverse and then it always returns to the middle no matter what, then you have to press the button for park so you don't know if you're in park unless you look.

As a 4x4 its a complete waste of space , too low to ground no low range , an old series landrover would pull it backwards off road never mind a Defender with traction control . If you must buy a BMW get a saloon not this over priced people carrier
