I was indifferent about the hatch looks but after driving it for 5 months I prefer it over the sedan. Whenever I have passengers in the back they feel really comfortable with all the extra head room. The hatch door is really handy also, really easy to get things in and out and it can hold 2 mountain bikes.

@scooped13 Just to better inform, turbo chargers do not increase fuel efficincy. Turbo & Super chargers compress air which allows -more- fuel to be burned (14:1 air:fuel) which adds the power. Turbos use the exhaust to spin the compressor turbine, so they are not constant, the engine works harder on exhaust stroke to push the turbine. Superchargers use engine spin through use of a belt & pulley, so they are constant, less strain. Turbos require more tuning, Supers require more installation.
@odoyle41414 жыл бұрын
@83andy1 Nevar! But on a more serious note, they are very different cars and it totally depends on what you want the car for, your driving style and what you would prefer to drive. Only thing i would recommended to you is that you take them both for a test drive and decide which suits your needs better.

@halpplz - Yes, the STI has a 6 speed. However, there is not much of a performance gap between the STI and WRX and the price difference is $8000. Even the deal said that performance wise they are too close. If the STI was $2000 more then I would not hesitate.
@oldfashionedwrx357412 жыл бұрын
doesn't matter how many cylinders, more performance you get you burn a lot more fuel. WRC requires a 4 cylinder small engine i think, but with anti lag turbo systems it generates torque across the band which can exceed that of a larger engine.

@dn157523 actually off turbo, your restricting exhaust flow...so you LOSE mileage. but set up correctly and tuned right, it's close, but when you go on boost you need to add ALOT MORE gas, or the engine will run lean and fry the pistons or valves, or even worse run too hot.

Wow! Beauty and brains. Great presentation, I like how you talk about the key technical points of the car but in a casual way.
@oldfashionedwrx357412 жыл бұрын
It depends how you drive a wrx, as with turbo 4 cylinders there is a bi model disturbution with the fuel economy, one side is skewed with good fuel economy and the other is skewed to the bad side, the difference depends on your driving habits e.g if you use the turbo boost a lot your going to be using a lot more fuel up. compared to not using the turbo your fuel economy will be quite good

@MonsterRallyKing The EVO can keep up just fine in the dirt. Those both have independent all wheel drive with adjustable dif settings along with the dirt, tarmac, and snow settings to push even harder off road. I think the only reason the EVO would have trouble off road would be it's stock tarmac tune which the STi also has now because of it's Nurburgring development.

@Katlunazul you can pick up a base v-6 mustang, without an STI hard plastic rattle-trap interior, for about $24k.. oh and it beats an STI around Virginia International Raceway.

if i recall, the girl in the car that is meant for handling was the one that wanted to race in a straight line...right?
@squirlybmx13 жыл бұрын
@Nops341 It's close but when if you're really racing it hard and need a car that can get some real lap times, the EVO is your car. The Subaru is an overall more practical race car for the road but the EVO will give it some real work on the track. I really think that it's an either or situation with the 2011 STi since it's been reworked so extensively, it may even be faster than an EVO now.

@Iamdustyyy they will if they are not on boost at all, but when that boost comes up you have to keep the correct air/fuel ratio for the combustion to happen and when you jam in twice as much air you have to put in twice as much fuel making it as efficient as a v8

@Miata822 by "ins't that bad" i meant that on a track it only lost to the m3 by 1/10 of a second and its faster than a m3 in a straight line and yes it is sad that ford has not gave it independent suspension but for a 30k car with live rear axle its not bad compared to the m3 and i also like m3's and subaru's but i would still choose the mustang over those 2

@rexey5 i'm sorry did you just say the camaro, mustang, and challenger all dust the STI? Have you seen the performance reports and side by side comparisons? Edmunds did one the last few years and the Challenger couldn't even hold a candle to the STI, they had to bring out a Cobra to outperform it which costs WAAAAY more than the STI, and the SS Camaro lost to the STI in everything but skid plate...i think you should really google your facts first.

Roadfly TV needs to spend more time or SOME time showing the performance of the car. Take it out somewhere and let it loose and show us what the sports car can do. If this was just a Honda Civic then this video would of been fine but for a sports car - show the performance. On the flip side of things, I love watching her reviews. She gives a good description of what comes with the cars and she is just plain sexy - someone I'd love to get to know. She is definitely someone to be reviewing sports cars and I love her review on the Infiniti G37 convertible. Her name is even cool. Maybe someday I'll get that girl and the car. I had the nice car, need to get it back and next time, a girl that looks like that! Nice voice too!

That's true... The engine is very far up front in a Supra, plus the car is very heavy by itself. I just think that the Supra is a very beautiful vehicle. But with this STI, it's very nice. I've always been a fan of inline 4's (I own a 02 Celica GT-S). I definitely wouldn't mind owning one of these.

@MIA7Xthies i agree we should save manual for those who are die hard but i was just wondering if it came as an option, because i am sadly not 15 anymore drooling over fast and furious cars, and the autos that they are putting in cars like these now (like the twin clutch) shift faster and more accurately than someone behind the wheel of a stick......there is a reason that manual transmissions are called "standard" But yes they should save it, i just think i would get tired of it after a while.
