What higher compiment can be paid than - "Professor Hindson commented: "I will be presenting 'And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope' to the composition students at the Conservatorium next semester as an exemplar in structure, mixing timbres, meters, modes, how to approach virtuosity, sound and noise, extended performance and techniques. The students will need to study 2 technical aspects of what Ne Obliviscaris have done in their music, and then use these techniques in their own classical music compositions." "It is my pleasure to introduce such high quality music making to our students, alongside other music by composers including Beethoven, Gershwin, Steve Reich and Peter Sculthorpe. Musicians deserve to hear the music of Ne Obliviscaris, and the music of many other metal bands, in order to appreciate the compositional complexity that lies within it, no matter what their musical tastes." From a Professor at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music....

@@TankTheTech I don't see any comment about this, and I really think it's worth mentioning... this song "And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope" was included in a teaching curriculum at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, one of Australia's most prestigious classical Conservatories. The song will undergo a compositional analysis by Professor Matthew Hindson, Chair of Composition at the Conservatorium.

funny thing is to the speed he's playing, he swivels so little compared to other drummers its odd how he keeps it that way (I also learnt without swivel but nowhere near as fast as him)

At first I thought the screaming vocalist looked/sounded really out-of-place in the band, but the combination of sort of prog/fusion mixed with harsh vocals really works.
@jjoao32
@jjoao32 4 жыл бұрын
I am not the biggest fan of harsh vocals but NeO has a way to blend Xenoyr's vocals into their music that you can barely notice it standing out, it just becomes sort of an instrument. They are really clever at this, specially using the contrast of Tim's cleans or the violin. Amazing work by these guys indeed.

It's honestly something that i love about the video, everyone just looking like the most average peeps and then there is Xenoyr looking like a depressed goth... It seems out of place the first place but it's really just a perfect fit and brings balance somehow

At the time they were struggling to just keep existing! This was initially supposed to be a black metal band but they ended up as a god tier progressive blackened technical melodic death metal act. Another great review. I like your added comments post editing and the attention you pay to gear and the technical side of their playing. I haven't seen many comments for more Ne Obliviscaris songs, so here are mine: Devour Me Colossus, Intra Venus, As Icicles Fall and Forget Not are all worth a listen. For similar bands, I recommend Persefone. They have some great concept albums which are a dying media.

What's even wilder is that the amount of insane Australian Metal/Rock/Prog bands that never get the recognition due to how Australia treats its arts scene. Like the biggest metal bands in Australia had its pianist on the show "Married at first sight" if that doesn't explain the financial struggle, nothing will haha

Hello. I would like to request something from Trees of Eternity. Unfortunately there are no live performances that I know of, but there is a valid reason why. (There are some live recordings with pre-recorded vocals) It is absolutely imperative that you do at least a little research on the group prior to listening. Knowing the tragic story behind the album is part of what makes it so amazing. The songs I recommend are: Sinking Ships (most popular, but acoustic), Gallow's Bird, and Hour of the Nightingale. All the songs on the album are amazing though. Thanks.

I Just found out about you the other day, and have been going through a bunch of your videos. Love your reactions man! I saw the Unleash the Archers vid, and was hoping you did Ne Obliviscaris. This song STILL gives me chills hearing it today! And, oh yeah, Liked and Subbed!

Also the crowds tend to be in a trance and it isn't until the breaks that you wake up and start headbanging again.

Lemme throw you a curveball and suggest an all-instrumental band to react to: Night Verses. You might have heard of the drummer's other band Fever333, but Night Verses is where he (and the other two guys ofc) really show off their INSANE talent and creativity. I can't even really describe their style, other than that it's very atmospheric, sometimes almost dreamlike and pretty intense progressive metal with an eerie twist. Dude they might not be the most requested band on your channel - mostly because they're not insanely popular I guess - but I PROMISE, you'll love it! Their play-thru of Copper Wasp would probably be the best starting point to get into their stuff. You're awesome, keep it up!

Thank you for that, man! I'm familiar with Fever, but haven't heard of Night Verses. I'll throw it in the notebook and try to get to it eventually!

@@TankTheTech you definitely won't regret it! Even if it doesn't make it onto the channel, I hope you'll get the chance to listen to some of their music in whichever way.

Could you react to "The Funerary Dirge of a Violinist"? Symphonic black metal from the Netherlands with some amazing lyrics, and an incredible video.

This just occurred to me : this was the last song of their set. Imagine being up next - how the hell do you follow that?
