they actually started by the singer(the harsh singer) who was trying to start a black metal band but the violinist got added and things changed and they became far more progressive, i love that song, glad you guys liked it
@scottrobinson46115 жыл бұрын
The black metal influence mainly comes from the harsh vocalist, Xenoyr (shocking, right?). Xen is an old school black metal guy. Tim the violinist and clean vocalist, is a classically trained violinist. The rest of the band are primarily prog metal guys. Xen actually doesn't like prog metal that much afaik, but he's somehow built an amazing prog metal band over the years. Stick all that together and you get this band. Progressive metal that blends in a lot of black and death metal sounds, alongside Xen's shrill black metal vocals. Xen also writes both sets of lyrics. Glad you liked these guys. They've been my favourite musicians for a good few years now, and I love seeing other people listen to them for the first time. Check out their song "Devour Me Colossus Pt 1"if you get the chance

"The singer looks like he belongs in a black metal band." It's funny you should say that, because Xen actually wants to start a black metal side project and prefers extreme metal to progressive stuff. By the way, this band's music is studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. They're so fucking good (and unique)! I didn't suggest this, but thanks for reacting! And if you hadn't guessed, the violinist/clean singer doesn't come from a metal background. Hence the dancing in between headbanging. But he's great, so who cares?
@TheMoralMisanthrope5 жыл бұрын
The dancing just totally caught me off guard. It was kind of funny. Seemed like he was just really in the moment. They are most definitely a very unique band and incredibly talented musicians. Not a sub to your channel but I saw this in my recommended and I’m a huge Ne Obliviscaris fan. Really glad you both enjoyed the music. Lots of information about the band has already been dropped in your comments but I wanted to add that Dan, the drummer, does have his own KZbin channel and does upload play-throughs. Some with music and some are drums only. That’s most likely the reason he was wearing a GoPro. What I really enjoy about this band is that each member knows their instrument very well and it doesn’t seem like any of them try to “one up” the other or show off like musicians in other bands do.
