This is my first video on KZbin and I am excited to share some content with the world. I have been a gear head my whole life and I am finally bringing what I do on the weekends to the internet for everyone to see.
This is an overview of my "Muscle Truck" that I got my idea from Roadkills Muscle Truck. I am a huge fan of the show and most importantly the Muscle truck is my favorite vehicle on the show (Obviously!). The truck was in the latest copy of Roadkill Magazine so go check that out. Hope you enjoy.
Wheels are Cragar Black D Windows 15x10 and 15x8 4 inches backspace. Got them at Summit Racing. Tires are Cooper Cobra Radial GT P 245/60 R15 98T SL RWL in the front and 275/60 r15 in the back.
***The video makes it look like the frame may be bent or it's sagging in the middle. I saw that too but it is just the camera and the way I did it. It's an illusion! Thanks :D

Im so glad roadkill has brought a lot more love to the stepside bed nobody has really touched them in the last 10 or so years. Its all short bed fleetsides that have been built by the custom truck community, but now i see a lot more stepsides being built and that sure makes me happy.

What a breath of fresh air!!!! I’m so bored and jealous of these $60k c10’s with rims worth more than my truck lol. Personally I bought my 80’ to of course make it cool for myself, but to also work on it myself. Do things my way. This truck is exactly that.

I'm in the middle of a junk build myself, putting a 4.8 ls in my 914. Great truck, I have one opinion that you might consider. LS motors are cool, cheap to buy, and can be cheap to convert to a given vehicle however, why not look at a 454? There are tens of thousands of motor homes that get junked every year and many of them used 454s. There's a super chevy article out there where they picked up the motor for $300, left the bottom end alone (if you take the heads off, re-ring it, this is also where motor home engines are nice because they tend to be low milage) they put Edelbrock aluminum heads and manifold on it, a comp cam, and a holley 850 (if I'm remembering right) and it was making well over 500/500. All in, they only had about $3500ish into it. And if you do your ls right, you'll be coming in close to that. My 4.8 ls is being left alone except for exhaust and I'm running a programmable ecu from FAST and just the motor is coming in at $1500. Once it's in, I'll have over $4k into the swap. But dollars and sense, to each his own and all. Hope you love it no matter where it goes from here.

This gives me a feeling of loss and longing for the 75 step side I used to have. I bought it in 87 for $100. Drove it for 3 years and sold it for $100. The floor was gone but it ran great. And also suffered with the hood folding at the midpoint. But I have my 74 Chevelle Malibu, so there is enough on my dinner plate. Nice start. Good luck and have fun! BTW/sounds f'n bad ass!

👊 Most Excellent!!!!! 👊 My partner and I started with a '80 step side, SBC, added a 250 shot, then went on to add a 400" SBC still with the NOS, then we up graded to a 468" BBC with 2 stages of NOS. It's nice to have a 4,800 lbs truck run in the 10's when ever you, plus have it as a daily driver lol By the way nice job keep up the great job you are doing!

What exhaust setup is it? I had an 86 C10 with a 290hp/350 crate, had Flowtech longtubes, 2.5" duals with an H pipe and Flowtech Red Hot glasspacks, it sounded great, wish I still had it. Mine was a long bed, and even with 2.73 gears it could easily smoke the tires.

Hey Rob, I like the truck a lot incl. the color blocking, the (hugger) orange and the door as is. A few ideas w/out judgement. I would suggest taking a look at spark plug wiring diagram for a period 350 incl. the distributor. Good things may happen there immediately. This may seem nitpicky, but unfinished or maybe better termed 'as is' ( which I like) still has to be about the the details to give the nod to your work as the owner-builder - and not some guy who just bought it to drive. - The cues that would cause me to come to that conclusion - I'd put these on this (my) list when you got the time. I'd take care of the wiring the GPS wiring. That seems like it's always one right turn in your feet. Audio wiring too - with the sub behind one of the seats or against the cab or to floor with thick foam? if necessary or what ever you do to prevent resonating. - Stickers on the back go unless they say s/y you want them too. Any object or break in line will cause you eye to go to that first. - - Same with the gauges on the hood. Guages don't belong there on a driver, and even good ones there rarely work. I lived in NY - they don't survive. NY rocks. Redundant too. - If that mirror are for looks, and not a patch, that is a sacrifice I couldn't live with. I'd want to put that truck wherever I want whenever I want. You can have both. -The plates too; they are 10 questions (and not a simple ticket, theft, etc) to a trooper or any law. That is what they scan-look for. They always need to be tidy. - A logo or s/t might be cool too. Maybe a similar to the racey Roadkill R with a small B a tic lower to the left. Know anybody who is can draw, paint, ink, or pinstripe? They could do it - 2 color outline too. Anywhere else? they could put there name on it- in engine bay for fun. Take a look at some fonts that you might like. A few ideas might come from Icon or their derelicts for paint- finishing. Not sure. The guy is a bit precious and sells 200k+ to start but might find an idea of two. - I'd just drive it and save money considering whatever realistic endpoint (not necessarily the 'direction' which can go on forever) you want to take it or the money for the longer haul. Thanks for sharing - Good luck with it - K

Appreciate the time you put into writing all this. I actually have plans for the majority of the things you suggested and that is going to happen once I garage it for the winter and the engine swap starts. A lot of the things you mentioned were temporary just so I can enjoy the truck this summer. I always screw myself by working on my vehicles in the summer and never getting to enjoy them. I will note all you said and take it into consideration and you can feel free to subscribe as I will be showing more in the coming months once I get a camera.

I fell in love with it the first time it came on the show and was in love with it ever since. David Freiburger posted on Facebook about it being on Ebay and that it didn't sell and I posted a comment showing mine that he shouldn't sell it and if he ever did it would look great next to my version. Later that day Roadkill posted a picture of my truck on their Facebook, sooooo cool. Then crazy thing happened when I saw it in the magazine, what a day that was for me haha. Thanks for the kind words and it sucks you can't get your hands on one of your own, they are fun to play with.

not sure what you mean, the gap between the bed and cab? It's actually the same from top to bottom. Sometimes it looks kinked in a sense there but it's not. It's possible that the rear fenders are uneven and give it that look since the holes are mostly rotted and was hard to install myself. thanks tho!
