If anyone is looking to correct the speedometer inaccuracy, adjust the P3 setting from "10" to 9.5. This is referring to the size of the tire diameter. While the tire is a 10" tire, the electronics cause the speedometer to read about 10-15% higher than actual. Adjusting to 9.5 in the P3 setting has it reading only 1mph high at an actual 20mph and about 2mph high at an actual 40mph, a huge improvement. You'll remember that ESG clocked the scooter at less than 40mph while showing about 52mph on the display.

Range update: I took the RS5 Max on a 51 mile ride today. I'm 190lbs with my gear on and had a resting voltage of 49.9V when done, so somewhere between 45-48% battery remaining. This surprised me! We did a lot of riding at 16-20mph, with short up hills and accelerations up to 35mph or so. This was a total cruise ride with a 45 min stop for lunch. My brother was riding my Emove Cruiser S, his first time on an electric scooter but has a mountain bike racing background. He's 175lbs with gear and we road together the whole time. The Emove Cruiser had 49.7V resting at the end of the ride. As a reminder the RS5 Max is a 32Ah battery and the Emove Cruiser is a 30Ah battery, both 52V scooters. We traded scooters for about 12 miles so that my brother could experience them both. Crazy how closely matched in range these two scooters are despite being much different styles of scooter. In the end, it makes sense that it really comes down to amp hours, assuming similar amounts of energy output.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm sure it is until it's not. I'm reminded of that (in)famous video from a repair shop of the repair man telling people that their Kaabo Mantises (mantids?) aren't really water resistant as he has a bunch in the shop with water damage, and so far as I can tell it has a water resistance rating of IPx5. My 52V 23AH(not LG) battery for my Kukirin G3 Pro is really poor, they emailed me saying that the advertised 80km range is based on a 50kg(110lbs) rider😂 im in Canada 🇨🇦 & this scooter is for adults(not very realistic, if I weighed 110lbs I’d be in the hospital or ☠️) I’m 180lbs but at least 160lbs would be a more realistic test weight & range to advertise. I’d definitely upgrade to the 52V 32AH(LG) if it’s a vast improvement ( nobody wants to carry a spare battery) Wish I had waited spent the extra on the RS5 MAX 🔵

Got the RS5 Pro. I love it but I almost immediately replaced the tires with PMT tires, mine didn't come tubeless and after my first flat I patched the inner tube and filled with slime. I also replaced the rotors with a slightly thinner rotors, brake rub is completely gone. Speed is plenty fast! 40+ mph on a scooter takes balls. Suspension is pretty good.

Okay, mine arrived yesterday. I only tested in one direction on a relatively flat road with no wind and saw 45.4mph about 1mph behind ESG latest "short video" for the model. What was brow raising was the acceleration. I'm not used to this kind of pull from the Mantis King GT and actually lifted off the throttle my first couple of acceleration runs. I might be seeing 5.5 seconds to 30 but I'm only guessing based on what the Mantis King GT does along with Mitchell's 6.6 time. I'm lighter at 180lbs. Roadrunner has obviously done something different compared the the 39.5mph tested speed a month ago. I purchased this scooter accepting the reported speeds so this was a nice surprise. I can't believe how quiet, rattle free and solid this thing feels compared to the Mantis.... no clunking, no noises, as close to zero stem flex as I've ever experienced.

Looking to 'upgrade' from my InMotion S1, and the RS5 scooters are currently at the top of my very short list. My primary reason for being interested in these two particular scooters is due to the easily-removable battery...which leads me to my two questions: 1) What is the weight of the scooter with the battery pack removed? 2) What other scooters are you aware of having an equally-easy removable battery, that also has similar build quality, equal (or, at least, extremely close to) features, and are in the same general price range as the RS5 Pro & Max?

@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide First, thanks for the reply. Interestingly, even though the info isn't on their website, I downloaded the owner's manual...and, in a matter of speaking, the 'answer' was there. I'm the manual, it lists weight (88lbs), and "weight without battery" (70lbs). That means the battery pack is approx 18lbs (tho, the specific weight I was interested in was the "weight without battery". Second, now I'm back to being "on the fence" regarding the RS5. I REALLY like the looks, and the design, if the RS5. I also REALLY like that it has an easily-removable battery. It's one of the few scooters to "tick all the other checkboxes". I had high hopes that the weight would be lower without the battery. On the negative side, being almost 25lbs heavier (with the battery removed) than my InMotion S1, that would put more strain on my knee then I'd care to put. However, on the positive side, with the ground clearance being MUCH higher than the S1, actual lifting of the RS5 would be incredibly minimal...only into & out of my car, and the buses I drive for with. With the S1, I have to keep it inside...and, to get it to the car, I have to carry it from my room, to just outside the front door. With the RS5, I could keep the scooter in the garage, only having to bring the battery inside. The more I type these words, it's looking like the more I'm "convincing myself" to just go ahead, and order the RS5. Seems, the only questions that might be remaining are 1) whether to get the Pro, or whether the Max is truly worth the additional cost, and 2) whether, or not, to get the steering dampener (since I weigh in excess of 220lbs)?
@ninthislandrc
@ninthislandrc 21 күн бұрын
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Just thought I'd give a quick update. I got the RS5 Max, and it's absolutely fantastic. Without the battery, the scooter is only 70lbs, which I can (albeit, just above "just barely") handle. Of the 2 scooters, 2 Esk8s, and 1 EUC, I've had, the RS5 Max is, most definitely, THE BEST. I'm already in the process of a few minor 'upgrade' (steering dampener, 11" self-healing tires, Galfer 140mm brake rotors, different (and color-coordinated) hand grips, and app-controlled underside lighting. My only 'disappointment' is that, the day after it was delivered, RR started their Black November sale...lol

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide and what this means... That people will buy the same scooter with 52v battery, instead 60v or 72v because it writes "roadrunner" or because can squad battery packs (paying extra half scooter)... I can understand your work.... But now a days and much more in next months, everyone haves many options in scooter market with these money...😘

@@lex_2037 considering there’s a market for these to replace a “car” knowing WHERE I can take it is just as, if not, priority #1. I have, as MANY do, hills that prevent bikes from being useful. Or it’s weight to get upstairs to an apartment. ZERO videos show these things together, let alone a link to any kind of equation that QUANTIFIES a slope capability. Just saying.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide that’s speaking in general terms. Why not have a hill specified in grade, length, and elevation gain. Then you could compare all of the models. And include the amount of battery used for said hill.

The Segway GT2 double front fork suspension is far superior doesn't need a damping. This C-type garbage suspension needs a damping bad design and looks awkward 👎. Hyper scooter SLACK CORE or WEPED scooter used double front fork suspension because they're more stable at high speed and reliable. All motorcycle includes racing types and all E-bike only used double front fork suspension. Recently NAMI changed their scooter design to front suspension from C-type remember Namin BLAST? This was their first front fork design they learn their mistakes from C-type. If Roadrunner switch their C-type garbage to front fork suspension I'm SOLD! After all motorcycle and E-bike and high performance scooter dual front fork suspension can't be wrong right? Your not going to find a C-type suspension on motorcycle or motorcross let alone E-bike. Am I only one here knows how bad are C-type garbage?

Can you back this up a bit more? I’m looking at buying something in this price range and the C type suspension. Looks good to me. It looks like the dual Tron Achilles uses it the eagle one Pro, the Apollo Phantom, and even the Nami burn E2. It seems like most scooters in his 45 mile an hour class use this type of suspension. You did mention the GT two and that’s on sale in this price range but I’m not quite sure if I like that one too much. I completely see where you’re coming from on the logic that if bikes use it it should transfer over to scooters but sometimes things don’t transfer over and I feel like in this form factor these types of suspensions seem to make sense and look quite nice. Couple cheaper companies were doing it. I’d agree with you but it seems like everyone in this Class is doing this.

@@jonathanperry6233 Did you even watch ESC on KZbin none of those scooters used C-type because they're not design for racing front suspension is the future! Slack Core scooter or the new Nami Blast are both front suspension none of this scooters used damping.

@@zztop7000 dang! Thanks for throwing that out there. I just checked it out out even even though that was a thing. Sounds like you know what you’re talking about so I have to ask you, it’s a $2000-$2500 price range (with what’s on sale right now) what would you suggest? I noticed the Yume Osprey and a few others. Definitely don’t wanna go above that price range, but want something that can be safe at Highspeeds.
