If anyone is looking to correct the speedometer inaccuracy, adjust the P3 setting from "10" to 9.5. This is referring to the size of the tire diameter. While the tire is a 10" tire, the electronics cause the speedometer to read about 10-15% higher than actual. Adjusting to 9.5 in the P3 setting has it reading only 1mph high at an actual 20mph and about 2mph high at an actual 40mph, a huge improvement. You'll remember that ESG clocked the scooter at less than 40mph while showing about 52mph on the display.

Range update: I took the RS5 Max on a 51 mile ride today. I'm 190lbs with my gear on and had a resting voltage of 49.9V when done, so somewhere between 45-48% battery remaining. This surprised me! We did a lot of riding at 16-20mph, with short up hills and accelerations up to 35mph or so. This was a total cruise ride with a 45 min stop for lunch. My brother was riding my Emove Cruiser S, his first time on an electric scooter but has a mountain bike racing background. He's 175lbs with gear and we road together the whole time. The Emove Cruiser had 49.7V resting at the end of the ride. As a reminder the RS5 Max is a 32Ah battery and the Emove Cruiser is a 30Ah battery, both 52V scooters. We traded scooters for about 12 miles so that my brother could experience them both. Crazy how closely matched in range these two scooters are despite being much different styles of scooter. In the end, it makes sense that it really comes down to amp hours, assuming similar amounts of energy output.

Okay, mine arrived yesterday. I only tested in one direction on a relatively flat road with no wind and saw 45.4mph about 1mph behind ESG latest "short video" for the model. What was brow raising was the acceleration. I'm not used to this kind of pull from the Mantis King GT and actually lifted off the throttle my first couple of acceleration runs. I might be seeing 5.5 seconds to 30 but I'm only guessing based on what the Mantis King GT does along with Mitchell's 6.6 time. I'm lighter at 180lbs. Roadrunner has obviously done something different compared the the 39.5mph tested speed a month ago. I purchased this scooter accepting the reported speeds so this was a nice surprise. I can't believe how quiet, rattle free and solid this thing feels compared to the Mantis.... no clunking, no noises, as close to zero stem flex as I've ever experienced.

Looking to 'upgrade' from my InMotion S1, and the RS5 scooters are currently at the top of my very short list. My primary reason for being interested in these two particular scooters is due to the easily-removable battery...which leads me to my two questions: 1) What is the weight of the scooter with the battery pack removed? 2) What other scooters are you aware of having an equally-easy removable battery, that also has similar build quality, equal (or, at least, extremely close to) features, and are in the same general price range as the RS5 Pro & Max?
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuideАй бұрын
Battery weighs over 10-15lbs! Check the link in description for latest pricing.
@ninthislandrcАй бұрын
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide First, thanks for the reply. Interestingly, even though the info isn't on their website, I downloaded the owner's manual...and, in a matter of speaking, the 'answer' was there. I'm the manual, it lists weight (88lbs), and "weight without battery" (70lbs). That means the battery pack is approx 18lbs (tho, the specific weight I was interested in was the "weight without battery". Second, now I'm back to being "on the fence" regarding the RS5. I REALLY like the looks, and the design, if the RS5. I also REALLY like that it has an easily-removable battery. It's one of the few scooters to "tick all the other checkboxes". I had high hopes that the weight would be lower without the battery. On the negative side, being almost 25lbs heavier (with the battery removed) than my InMotion S1, that would put more strain on my knee then I'd care to put. However, on the positive side, with the ground clearance being MUCH higher than the S1, actual lifting of the RS5 would be incredibly minimal...only into & out of my car, and the buses I drive for with. With the S1, I have to keep it inside...and, to get it to the car, I have to carry it from my room, to just outside the front door. With the RS5, I could keep the scooter in the garage, only having to bring the battery inside. The more I type these words, it's looking like the more I'm "convincing myself" to just go ahead, and order the RS5. Seems, the only questions that might be remaining are 1) whether to get the Pro, or whether the Max is truly worth the additional cost, and 2) whether, or not, to get the steering dampener (since I weigh in excess of 220lbs)?
@ninthislandrc21 күн бұрын
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Just thought I'd give a quick update. I got the RS5 Max, and it's absolutely fantastic. Without the battery, the scooter is only 70lbs, which I can (albeit, just above "just barely") handle. Of the 2 scooters, 2 Esk8s, and 1 EUC, I've had, the RS5 Max is, most definitely, THE BEST. I'm already in the process of a few minor 'upgrade' (steering dampener, 11" self-healing tires, Galfer 140mm brake rotors, different (and color-coordinated) hand grips, and app-controlled underside lighting. My only 'disappointment' is that, the day after it was delivered, RR started their Black November sale...lol
