Light lure fishing the river Severn 14th July in between heat waves.

In between the heat waves the temperature dropped enough for me to get a light lure session in. Specifically trying to not target pike and hopefully just perch, chub and trout I hit the Severn. With an overcast day for the most and a lovely cool breeze I wangled a few perch, a couple chub and unfortunately some pike. One that I managed to pull away from was a mid double.

Great video. Wish the BAA would come to the 21st century and let you buy a 12 month license from the date you buy it instead of Jan - Dec.

Although from the clubs committee point of view, it's much harder to administrate 12 month rolling season permits, our club always have to chase up renewals every January, would be a nightmare having to do that all year. 👍

Lovely stuff! I had a crack at barbel and chub between heatwaves, luckily we had a couple of small rises after rain to freshen the river (ribble) but I still stuck to the faster runs. I'll try the mepps when it cools off more, as there's some good pike and perch in the deeper pools. We'll done re light wire trace, good precaution 👍
