I remember listening to this song on repeat when it first came out. I was in the midst of a toxic, abusive relationship and I would think “I want this, and it’s the furthest thing from what I have right now”. I eventually managed to leave that relationship and a year later met the man who completely changed my world. This one is timeless and holds a lot of meaning for me. When I got divorced, this song helped me get through a lot of hard moments and more than a bit of cynicism. For a long time I felt alone. Lots in life went wrong, a divorce, medical issues which led me to being discharged from the Army, family deaths, it all happened it seemed at once. I really had given up, I went through the motions of everyday life, and I just said one day ill just not show up to work and eventually they will find me. It really had gotten to that point. Then one day I met a nurse, who for some reason wanted to get to know me. I tried to push her away but she never gave up and I finally agreed to a date.
