Went to grand isle yesterday and couldn't find any reds until we hit this one spot and it was one after another just like this! It was amazing how many reds were stacked up in one spot. Awesome video Todd, always look forward to them!

Glad you got in on the jubilee. It happens all over the coast during these frigid-cold events, but sometimes you have to hunt for those right spots.

Haha. Awesome. I went this morning and couldn't buy a bite. There were lots of people and only a few rat reds were brought in by the time I left. I'm sure they will turn on later if they haven't already. But work calls...

The colder the water, the better. This secondary front should help to get things rolling again.

Thanks! I'll give you an update. going out there around noon time.

What makes them stack up, really cold weather or spawning season? My grandson has never caught redfish and he will be here during the Thanksgiving holidays so we may try to fish there. Shanks for sharing
@MarshManMasson5 жыл бұрын
It's the cold. Redfish spawn in coastal passes in August and September.

Todd, Kudo"s on your recent articles in La .Sports. Mag. The Tide article was informative if not a solution to our tide frustrations. THe Paradox article fairly illuminated the problem fishermen have in Louisiana marshes today. I also wanted to ask about the retreival speeds i see you using in your videos. You crank your reel and bounce your creature baits faster than I do. I was thinking you might edit the speed of the video to get more action on each episode
@MarshManMasson5 жыл бұрын
The tide article in Louisiana Sportsman was one I wrote at least a decade ago while I worked there. I think they're rerunning some old stories. I don't edit the speed of my retrieves. What you see is what you get. Funny you say I fish fast because most people tell me I fish painfully slowly.

Well we gave it a shot. They had some people catching some. mostly under size. We came up empty handed but it was more about spending time with my son and dad.

No guarantees, but this is definitely the weather you want. You might have to wait for the roads to thaw. Good luck!
