Started building mine last night. The instructions are the worst I've experienced in 35+yrs of kit builds! I will be referring to this video countless times throughout the build. Thank you Troy.

Looks like a nice kit... cant wait to see more of people's thoughts after they get some use on it... This kit renewed my interest in drifting , and have been looking at a bunch of cars for the last few days... leaning towards a Yokomo RD2.0 kit to start with, and then possibly.this for my son and I to have 2 cars. Can't wait to see your next videos, as I am really interested in what body mounting options they provide, and if there is a way to mount from the shock towers vs the front bumper... Also, very curious about when you would want the higher CG motor on top vs the lower CG motor and battery position... would that hamge dependomg on if you're on a smooth drift track vs parking lots and tennis/basketball courts, etc...? Cheers

Glad you are thinking about getting into drifting. As you first start, you will see VERY little difference in a high vs low motor setting. I recommend NOT stressing over any of these details. Getting the proper electronics and learning how to drift will be MUCH more important than these small details.

When you built yours and before you mounted the servo, was the steering a little stiff turning it right and left?
@RoadsideRC5 ай бұрын
It was not. It was super free and floppy. Check to see where your resistance is coming from.
@cory2725 ай бұрын
@@RoadsideRC once I put it down on the table it loosens up. It was super floppy until I mounted the shocks. I used the same size you did, being the middle height shock arm.

Good question! I don't believe so. All 4 of them (top and bottom on both sides) are the same part and symmetrical. I could easily see someone 3D printing or offering different parts that bolt on to offer this. Great idea!

For the money I would expect the instructions to include two important gears for the diff. Hopefully people assembling this kit notice they arent mentioned and put them in like you did. It does look really nice, clean though. And a bit heavy looking like the MST rigs. It will be fun to see how it works out as new lighter bits and add ons become available too.
@RoadsideRC5 ай бұрын
I bet the newer manuals will be updated quite quickly. Hopefully someone from TA is watching! :) The car is not as heavy as I thought it would be, and I think has some potential to drop some weight rather quickly. More to come on that!

Was curious where you mounted the capacitor for the ESC? Im running the same XR10/DC10 combo and there just isn't a ton of space on that rear ESC mount for the capacitor. Also, are the ball joint connectors for your steering really loose? Mine didn't snap in like the rest of the ball joints in the car and wasn't sure if that was by design or if I got crummy ball joints. TIA
@RoadsideRC5 ай бұрын
I was able to mount the capacitor just above the ESC. My ball cups snapped tight all around. Interesting that yours are loose. I wonder what is up with that...
@aleccooley43575 ай бұрын
@@RoadsideRCnot sure, didn't seem like there were different sizes. I checked other ball joints but they all did the same thing. Might just have to throw some different ones in there. Did you mount it on the Carbon fiber or on the plastic mount off the rear?
