Hi Jonny 💎✨🌅✨💎✨😀😘😀👍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥✨THANK FOR SHOWING and sharing and capturing on film some of the fabulous history of Australia and the trucking industry in Australia roads places people you like many others of captured it on film with generations to come. Most people don’t realise that but it’s absolutely fabulous mate. I started off siding in the 70s. As a kid for my grandfather he learned how to drive trucks in the Australian military after the war he started to work machinery and then become a long haul truck driver up and down the east coast and then in the 80s I started to offside for one of my uncles Can to Melbourne just off siding body trucks and on the big old rigid then in the 90s so I did a bit of driving Cairns to Sydney yeah I’m semi retired It’s hard to beat mate. The freedom behind the wheel. Sign up the sunset back then it was all night long. Thanks for sharing all your adventures across this wide great land of Australia. Have a good one mate. Enjoy the adventure

Dad was one of the Ten pound Pomms back in the early 60's. He never made it, he got more and more homesick and returned back to England after a couple of years. Met my mum in '66 and I was born in '69. It's been one of my life regrets that dad never made a life for himself down under. Then I would have been born in this beautiful country instead of the UK. Very enjoyable. Roadhouse tour of Australia. I remember when these places were generally far less extravagant. As you say they all have an American feel to them now. As does Australia itself. The old truck stops, tin shed in a paddock, are getting scarce now. More likely to be a museum. People can't go far now without connectivity. They may miss a celebrity tweet about their breakfast. I would be quite happy on the road. No one to pester me, admiring the countryside and nature. Thought of you the other day driving out of my little town. Parked in a lay by was a Lunbar Transport truck. Don't often see them in my part of Queensland.

I'm 64 now, i've never ever forgotten that incident,i'm not an angel,i've made quite a few mistakes (i guess we all do),but funilly enough i've always been spot-on with my axle weights ever since.....

G'day, This will make me sound old, but I remember when...Tobaco farming was a big thing in the late 70s. Then the demand dropped due to several factors. Many Tobaco farmers cried out as if it was the end of the world. then within a few years wine production became a big deal and some of those same farmers sang the benefit of changing what they produced. One big thing was increased profits. It just goes to show that we need to adjust to a changing world.
@RoadTrainAdventuresАй бұрын
Unfortunately I don't remember any of that so I can't say much.
@skullandcrossbones65Ай бұрын
@@RoadTrainAdventures I grew up around lots of tobaco farms in north east Victoria, Many went into the grape production. Dairy was the other big Agriculture in the area. It seems a lot of smaller producers could not keep up with modernisation.

Inglewood in QLD was a tobacco growing place and it was a wealthy little town in those days. Not now. There were car and machinery dealerships and businesses of all sorts. When the man on the land is doing well so is the town. That can be said of the country as a whole too.

Hey Mate that load would have been very light. Do you have to have any paper work to tow two trailer’s on the Hume? Thank you very much for the video
@RoadTrainAdventuresАй бұрын
I didn't have the right trailers to tow two up the Hume hence the reason you only see me with one.
@jefftheaussie2225Ай бұрын
You do see road trains on the Hume but they must be shorter trailers.

AT 27:27 there is a Police Arial Enforcement sign. In the 1980's they tried it, so the truckies called them 'Pigs in Space' (a reference to the popular Muppet Show, at the time) ... lol

Hey mate I was parked up at BP Eastern Creek around 2 weeks ago I think I seen your truck there...I had a little look around for you but no luck....you may have been resting up or in shower maybe was another driver and not you....stay safe out there, if I knew how to do this KZbin stuff I would probably have a go myself, with the work I do is very versatile all sorts of different loads and trailers, most places will probably let me film. Only thing is I mostly run east coast so that may get boring to viewers....
@RoadTrainAdventuresАй бұрын
Yeah start a KZbin channel. Remember Ken from the Homeless Trucky on it does the east coast so have a go. Sorry that I missed you. That would have been me.
