Those bridges are impressive. The steep approaches and green color reminds me of the L.A.Harbor V.Thomas bridge.

I recently drove across them and they are still looking great 11 years after this video was shot.

Great bridge. This is the typical route from NYC to DC and from the northeast to the south. $4 gets you a lot of great views (and it`s only a one way toll). I don`t know why many complain about the toll when the NYC Hudson River crossings (like the GW) are $15! Many should really think twice before talking like how everything should be free or something. Appreciate the great scenery for a great cost!

Remember when this bridge was being built to replace its predecessor in 1970. It's a marvel as you leave Delaware and enter New Jersey or visa versa.

I can't begin to count the number of times I've been over that bridge since childhood going to visit family and friends up that way! On a different note, so the bridge is now $4! I haven't crossed the Delaware-bound span in I can't remember how long.

That's right! You think that's bad? The Millard Tydings and Thomas Hatem bridges which cross the Susquehanna River are now both $8.00 - that's right EIGHT DOLLARS - going northbound!!!! If I'm north of Trenton NJ, you can be just about assured I'll cross the Delaware there!

In June, 2009, my brother, Keith, took me, my mom, his wife and kids on a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennesee. On the way there, we were riding on Hook Road in Pennsville, New Jersey. When we came to a certain spot on Hook Road, Keith started talking to me. Keith said to me, "Hey Billy, do you know what's getting ready to happen? Your favorite part of the trip is coming up; we're getting ready to go over the green bridge."_The Delaware Memorial Bridge. He didn't say "Delaware Memorial Bridge," but the "green bridge" like I do. Keith called going over the green bridge my favorite part of the trip, lol! My brother, Keith, my mom's cousin, Robert Elwell, and Robert's son, Robert Elwell, Jr. "Rob" are the people that I call Delaware Memorial Bridge the green bridge when I'm around them. I also say "the green bridge" around a friend of mine, Heather Nicole Sager-- Good Ol' Heather Nicole.

One of my favorite bridges of all time. The approaches are so steep, you have ride your brakes so you don't break the speed limit. The cops will use that to bust people smuggling drugs from Florida. Also, I noticed people are shocked at the $4 toll. That's nothing. Most of the Philly bridges are $5 now.

I just wish we could see Fort Delaware and Mott from the Bridge. For those who don't know we also have a pristine Civil War fort just east of the Bridge on an Island in the middle of the river.

EZpass is an East Coast/Midwest thing - the only western state that is a member is Washington state. What got ME sold on EZpass was the 495 Express Lanes - tag-team that with HOV-3=FREE and it becomes both an aggro-saver and a MONEY saver - and there's not a thing wrong with that! (In Maryland, there's actually an additional advantage - the transponder fee is now $0.00; yes, I said zero. And it works everywhere EZpass does. No more exact change needed. (You can even access your trip record online - which means you can print it.)
